So how does this work? Never done a draft before. Is there a debate/discussion before voting or what? It seems we didn't have a lot of talk during the drafting stage. Which is fine. I'd just like to hear about some folks talk about why they chose who they did for certain parts/crew positions.
Did you decide that you weren't interested in that?
I was thinking of either adapting a book or play next. Or rebooting a TV series (maybe allowing adapting films for television)? Or possibly going old school draft format and drafting the greatest solo artists of all time. I have a couple other ideas as well but those seem the most likely to be interesting to more people.
I have an idea for a tv series I'd really like to adapt, so I'm particularly interested in an adaptation one, but I'd be in for any of those ideas.

We didn't really discuss much before any of the voting in any of the other ones I've participated in, but I guess those might have been more self-explanatory. If you have specific questions about anyone's choices, I don't imagine it would hurt to ask (I'm happy to talk about any of my choices).

Oh, I was more curious how it worked. I haven't done this before. I figured debating the merits of people's projects was part of it. I guess things will get more argumentative when the field is narrowed down.
BTW, I think the Coens make perfect sense for a chamber drama/murder mystery. They've got shades of that in a lot of their body of work.

I'll most likely be interested to be in the next draft. A tv adaptation or reboot sounds interesting.

For the festival draft the "discussion" was mainly about scheduling/late nights/super jams to help separate the lineups a little. For this I'd say something like "hows your adaptation fix/add to the OG" "Why ____ over ____" etc. to help differentiate between films.

Yeah, that's why I tended to get long winded about my behind the camera folks.... especially closer to when I revealed my movie.
I planned to make a post giving examples of Gondry's style and how it would work to help this adaption, etc.
Really, the next step is a setting up a poll in the Blue Room and opening it up for voting.
There doesn't seem to be too much debate in the film and television drafts because it's fairly cut and dry. The music ones tend to get testier because you've always got a few participants trying to see how they can manipulate the rules.
"12 men of all different backgrounds come to deliberate on a case in which a young man has been accused of murdering his father. Although all jurors seem to be set on the idea that the young man is guilty of the crime, Juror #8 (Mark Ruffalo) presents the initial claim that the jury is not able to convict him beyond a "reasonable doubt". Many of the jurors are aggravated with this decision as some believe he is guilty while others do not care and just want to get home early. Juror #8 proposes many questions and scenarios that question whether or not the young man killed his father. However, Juror #3 (Brian Cranston) and Juror #10 (Robert De Niro) prove to be his strongest opposition throughout the deliberation as they continually insist that the young man is guilty
If anyone else has finalized ones, can you shoot them over to me via DM so that I know that you're done with them. If you're not doing one, a message would also be appreciated.
I'd like to get this rolling tomorrow morning, if possible.
If I don't hear from you, I'll make a good faith effort to scroll through the last few pages and try and use your most recent poster, but no promises on that.
