Calling it now, this year's stretch headliner: Potrtugal. the Man
absolutely NOOO way. They were 4th this year and have gotten no bigger. I think Fleet Foxes are the biggest stretch this year, and that's not really even a stretch at this point. Perhaps they'll just up the overall level of the headliners so that none are massive, but all are easily headliners at SK (AM/VW, QOTSA, Fleet Foxes, etc.)
They were 10th this year, not 4th. They were 4th for their day.

You don't think Fleet Foxes would headline at SK? imo they're on the same level as a lot of the headliners we've had before.

also, I'm not getting my hopes up for Arctic Monkeys. I'll just be severely disappointed. they haven't announced anything concrete for 2018 besides that their album will come out sometime, and with the lineup for SK coming out in January, I just can't see one of their first shows announced after their hiatus to be a festival set in Atlanta. If they announce something for 2018 before SK, between now and the lineup dropping, then I'll reconsider.
This will be my 4th year and the first year I plan to buy VIP. I'm seriously hoping to see Arcade Fire or the Alabama Shakes make the list. War on Drugs would be great too.

I'm considering VIP this year, although I've actually been pretty happy with General Admission for the past 3 years. I see almost no value in the Platinum option. $1250!!! And that's the early bird price. I paid significantly less than that for a GA ticket, plane ticket, 4 nights in a hotel, food and booze last year. Side note: I do have to wonder who is on this lineup that they think will justify VIP prices.

Count Dashboard and Beach Slang out based on new tour dates with an ATL show on 3/23. I'll give Jimmy Eat World and The Struts a "maybe" to play 5/4 to kick off their summer tour.
Please please please let Muse be a headliner. It honestly wouldn't surprise me, they've been doing some Shaky-sized fests the last couple years. I wasn't expecting them to be doing fests in the US this summer.
Beale Street fest in Memphis is that weekend too so it's possible we get only one or neither. That sure would be a bummer. Now I'm leaning towards Muse headlining that and not SK.
Looks to me like we got Muse - QOTSA - Fleet Foxes
What makes you so confident on this?
Muse is the only #1 I can think of that is within Shaky's range and that we know will be in the area. Arctic Monkeys and Vampire Weekend could also be #1's but we haven't heard any updates on either of them in awhile other than that they're both working on new albums.
At least out of all the #1's I can think of Muse seems to be the most likely given these things
