Has anyone with a good idea of how they schedule made a mock yet?
I took hours yesterday making one just because of this post and then closed out of everything this morning when I came back to my computer. we will see if I've got it in me to do it again today
I love the spirit and enthusiasm of everybody on the thread; it’s partly responsible for what makes Shaky such an awesome time!
As far as general admission versus VIP I’d say that at SK paying VIP won’t really get you much closer to the bands than general admission does; especially when compared to other festivals. VIP is good if you bounce around a lot though back and forth between stages because there is a designated area that is exclusively accessible to the VIPeeps so you can show up late for a show and have a pretty decent spot usually.
You could argue that if you drink a decent amount then VIP might actually save you money over 3 days (as opposed to buying a gen admin ticket and then paying for drinks) since beers are like $8/$9 so that’s cool they are free as is the water with your VIP ticket so that’s great for hydration. You also get the Fox Bros feedings twice a day which I always miss but that’s a well respected barbecue institution in ATL out of towners so a solid perk as well.
I hope MGMT doesn’t end up being at Music Midtown in September and that they play a proper club show in Atlanta since we didn’t get them for SK.
i'm convinced. bought my tickets, pretty excited to try out a new fest
I don't think you'll regret it. The layout in Central Park is infinitely better than in Olympic park, as well. It's easy to get around and there is a ton of room to get a good spot on the two main stages (if they're in the same spots).
It's pretty much all about the music. There's not a lot of extraordinary art or installations usually, but the music is great from gates to gates.

works for me! that's my main reason for skipping firefly this year, the lineup's a joke, whereas i know/like 90% of the shaky lineup

Thanks, i tried googling but I guess I wasn't using the right search words. I was hoping they could add the Breeders but they're on tour and playing everywhere But Atlanta....grrrrr

FYI you've got that backwards. If a band doesn't have an Atlanta date that would increase their odds of playing SK. If they already had an Atlanta show then they'd be out.

I should have clarified: they are playing gigs each night of Shaky Knees. I think we could see Tune-Yards added, they only have 1 gig in April and are touring now thru March w a new album out

lol "not that I could do better" was a thought I had while listening. it sounds like it could be part of the score to a cheesy 80s throwback video game, which I guess is kind of his thing. i definitely got trogdor vibes from it.
