Usually, if every company in an industry does something, it's usually the right thing to do. Every other festival drops it's schedule with a daily grid, which makes it easy to survey the day, suss out conflicts, and schedule your own day.
I'm hard pressed to think of any business advantage to posting the grid when the schedule drops.
the Tyler/Queens overlap blows. They're both in my top 3.
Frankly, having unopposed headliners doesn't do this schedule any favors.
This. after what I've heard about jack white on this recent tour I would have been perfectly okay with Tyler opposing him. I'm so bummed I'm missing out on QOTSA cause Tyler and Brockhampton are the two my GFs most wanted to see that day. Hopefully they come back soon.

Some tough choices for me. Probably gonna have to miss part of St Vincent for Brockhampton but both are at ACL so that makes it a little easier. Probably gonna choose Tyler over QOTSA. Then Dirty Projectors over Pond which sucks.
No real surprises. Pond and Oh Sees playing the Green stage and not the Blue should be interesting.
St. Vincent v. BROCKHAMPTON is rough.
Tyler v. QOTSA was predictable, but still sucks. I can see Tyler at Afropunk which will probably be a better crowd/show and then I can get a better spot for QOTSA/Jack
Would've liked them to put Fleet Foxes up against Em so I could check out Khalid, but oh well. I imagine some will be bummed about the Alvvays/Julien Baker overlap

You could always separate from your friends if you really want to see QOTSA over Tyler.
The upside is that it's a relatively conflict-free lineup for me. The downside is that I really love the Blue stage vibe, layout, and sound, and the schedule puts a lot of what I want to see on the twin stages, not the Blue stage.
Plus, my concerns about length of time to get from one end of the grounds to the other are amplified by a lot of five minute breaks between acts at opposite ends of the grounds.
Still, these are better problems to have than were present at City Hall Plaza, where you might look at a schedule dead zone with two or three acts in a row that you don't like and no alternative other than leaving the grounds.

I mean, i could. however, i don't wanna leave my girlfriend alone since she has pretty bad crowd anxiety. I like both Tyler and QOTSA a lot and I saw both on their last tours. Its not that huge of a problem, it just sucks.
I'm debating if I want to check out David Cross and see The Decemberists when they play Brooklyn in June, but idk if I'll be able to convince my friends.
Also the comedy schedule seemed to get pretty fucked up last year and I'd be a little upset if ended up missing out on both
Fair is fair, this is 1/3 of the complete grid, so I'll pay you 1/3 of the offered $25 ($8.33). Message me before the festival to set up a meeting time/place for the payment.
What's it like getting back and forth between Red and Green for decent spots? Start shuffling over like 10 minutes before a set ends or what?
Not even. First half of the day you can pretty much go one to the other at the end of each set and get a decent spot at each.
Once the crowds start filling in it's just a matter of working through people, or finding a spot where you can watch both stages, which is what we did for Bon Iver/Chance last year and probably will do for QOTSA/Jack White. I think the angle is a little different this year, but the stages are still super close together

Looking at the Comedy Thunderdome schedule, I can't help but wonder exactly what Natalie Portman will doing onstage for an hour each day. I just hope that Jar-Jar Binks isn't involved in any capacity.

We doing an Inforoo meet up for a set or a beer or what? Friday is my only day so far - I'll probably be in super early to get the lay of the land, see what the Natalie Portman thing is all about - then PTM>National>Killers

When are you putting out your Netflix special?
Oh, I've got something bigger than a Netflix special in the works. I actually just signed a deal for my first comedy special.
No, it's not on HBO or Comedy Central. It will be available internationally on two tin cans and a string, after which there are planned cross-platform releases through Etch-A-Sketch and carrier pigeon. Maybe some sidewalk chalk drawings, too.
Here's the old school grid we've all been expecting. I figured that Vanyaland would publish it, I just never imagined that they'd do it before Boston Calling itself:
