Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. If you have tickets to an early show at U Street Music Hall AND want to buy tix to the late show DJs, do they clear the club in between - like make you walk out and back in?
Or, even better, if you have tix to the early show do you even need to buy tickets to the late show or can you just chill at the bar? Guessing not but would be ideal.

In the past I have been able to see an early show and hang out without a new ticket until the late show, but it’s been a few years since I pulled that move. Plus I don’t think the late show was anything particularly popular. Worth a try if it’s not a sell out risk
Couple great shows got cheap on Stubhub, picked up The National & Courtney tickets for tonight for under 30 bucks and Father John Misty & Isbell for under $15 today.
Any predictions on a date/venue for a DC/Baltimore Vampire Weekend date that could be announced after Firefly?
I think you are looking at either The Anthem or MECU Pavilion. However, I’m leaning towards them playing The Anthem. Given that the date would probably be on Labor Day Weekend, that would give them about 2 months or so to sell tickets. That would be plenty of time for a venue like the Anthem, a place that they can definitely sell out quickly. I just don’t know if they could sell enough tickets in time for MPP to make it worth it.

I’d love to be wrong but I just don’t see them doing Norfolk and DC in the same weekend. Maaaaybe they add a Baltimore date, but I think they’re just taking the weekend off and will see us on next year’s festival tour.

Billie was impressive. Production is great and the crowd was into it. Maybe it was just me, but the crowd seemed louder than her at certain points of the show. She will definitely be playing either Capital One Arena or Merriweather the next time she comes to town, which may be sooner than people realize.

I’m very excited to be annoyed with my first MPP/Ticketmaster buying experience on Thursday. It was so easy to get floors through Ticketfly.
Well, managed to pull great seats but it was annoying as shit. Had mobile and desktop open, sat in the queue for a while (it took me three tries to pass the bot test on mobile), then when I finally got through on mobile the way do the seats is kinda dumb. They had it filtered by best value rather than best, and then when you do best you get a bunch of bullshit VIP tickets that are just regular seats that cost more. Then I found 4 good regular price seats, selected them and then they said they had already been sold. Then repeat twice more. So then I finally settle for four tickets that weren’t great and put them in my cart just as I’m getting through on my desktop, so I figure I’ll try there while the mobile tickets sit in my cart. Slim pickings on desktop, I’m hunting around and stuff is disappearing before I can click on it, then magically they release a whole shit load of tickets and I grab four awesome ones dead center center section. I guess being first in line with Ticketmaster is the sucker play.

Did you pull this off? Thinking about hitting Operators on Saturday and wondering if I’ll be able to stay

We clear the club after the first show like you stated and yeah unless you sweet talk the door guy you’d have to buy the second show too.
Y'all got any suggestions over the next few weeks for shows? Im using Songkick and there just doesn't seem to be too much in my wheelhouse, but Im open to anything.
Also, do you guys use any blogs or other websites to checkout music and other events?

These coming weeks are just slow in DC, next thing on my agenda is RUFUS DU SOL at The Anthem on August 8th.
Besides this thread, I'm subscribed to all the newsletters from the venues in town (including things such as the Kennedy Center), and I also look at forum.930.com for show announcements.

Im debating on going to that but Ill be seeing them at LiB in Vegas. They're fun enough to go to both though. Well see.
Im debating on seeing Cayucas or Jackie Venson this Thursday and maybe Fruitbats next Friday.

depends on your taste but Im going and looking forward to the Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington show at Wolf trap on July 30. Im more into Jam bands than most on this board and seeing Tedeschi Trucks Band and Dave Matthews this week
Lord Huron on Tuesday at Merriweather. Then nothing until Tame Impala. I don’t know what it is but June-August is always slow in the area for shows. European festival circuit paying an arm and a leg for talent to play their so I’d guess it’s a money thing.

Missed this but yeah, as mentioned above they cleared it. we came back after the Holy Ghost show (& after a couple tacos/drinks at ElRey) for the 70s dance party and still had a great time. I think it was actually technically sold out but they were cool and let us buy tickets when we asked about it on our way out.
