Rumor mill on the Coachella thread has Beyonce, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers as the headliners for this year. Being a Goldenvoice product and all, seems like unfortunately The Chainsmokers are def in play as a Firefly Headliner
seems like every year we lose artist to festivals across the pond, and because of EDC vegas( I know we have planes). QOTSA just announced they are playing north side fest. The week before so you could probably guess they won't be next year. Now that EDC moved its dates, I hope Firefly doesn't go overboard with EDM and stick with the Alt roots.

the more i think about it i can totally see them booking frank ocean to play this. If GV got him on the hangout lineup theres no reason to think FF couldn't get him.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
I really don't think they'll have Imagine Dragons as a headliner after their sales last year, and with how Wayhome played out last year.
Eminem - The Black Keys - Arcade Fire - The Chainsmokers
Not sure if The Black Keys will even be touring again next year, but I feel like when they do, Firefly will try to book them again. With the Coachella rumor too, I could see the Chainsmokers as the late night headliner or whatever. If we get stuck with them hopefully there will be something decent to see during that time.
As much as I admittedly want to see Green Day for the nostalgia, this is a very real disaster scenario (Frank Ocean joke aside).
Pretty sure this would kill Firefly. I know Firefly gets ragged on a lot here (and usually rightfully) but there is no way they could book something this bad and survive.
If they really were close to booking Beyonce for this year, or whatever that was, I could see them keeping her for this year. I'm not a fan, hell I'd much prefer Lady Gaga for that matter. But it's at least better than Imagine Dragons.
You figure if last year was indeed supposed to be:
Beyonce - Muse - 21P - Chance
Than it serves no reason 2018 couldn't be:
Beyonce - Green Day - Imagine Dragons/Calvin Harris

chance and TOP are pulling much bigger crowds, especially in the festival scene, then Imagine Dragons are these days.

Don't tell that to Firefly. Remember, Firefly "discovered" Imagine Dragons

Thats true, but Imagine Dragons is still selling pretty well. Pretty strong market for their show in DC, much better than Arcade Fire's

Forgive me if this sounds like a fairy tale, but a few people on the Firefly Facebook page who are relatively reputable are claiming to have intel that REM is reuniting next year, and playing Firefly. Anyone have any incite.
he/they '12 - Firefly '13 - Firefly, Made In America '14 - Firefly, Made In America '15 - Mountain Jam (Sunday), Firefly, Pitchfork, Made In America '16 - Boston Calling, Firefly, Osheaga, Made In America, Roots Picnic NYC '17 - Boston Calling, Gov Ball, Firefly (Sunday), Pitchfork, Day For Night '18 - Boston Calling, Mountain Jam, Osheaga '19 - Form, Firefly (Sunday) '22 - Boston Calling, Firefly '24 - Solid Sound, Soundside

I saw the post. I think it was more alluding to REM reuniting and not necessarily playing Firefly.

Yeah, the only way I could see this happening is if AEG/Coachella gets them by offering huge reunion $$$ and they do a Coachella, Firefly, Panorama deal or something like that. Don't see any world in which they chose Firefly as their debut.

Imagine Dragons is on the second line at least, although I'm not sure we'd be so lucky. Perhaps as a fourth headliner? They were fourth in 2014, so I can't imagine they don't rise higher than that.
Green Day - Arcade Fire - Imagine Dragons - Skrillex
Maybe something like this. They throw in Arcade Fire just to fish me in again.
Fri- Arcade Fire Sat- Imagine Dragons/Skrillex (ala 2016) Sun- Green Day

I think it's becoming clear with whose available that Firefly will have the chance to book a real solid group of headliners. Pearl Jam ~ Arcade Fire ~ Childish Gambino ~ LCD Soundsystem ~ Robert Plant (in the wtf Bob Dylan spot)
Book that and you'll probably get this back to 90k.
