That's because Panorama is a *dope festival. They couldn't help mother nature and Lil' Wayne is Lil' Wayne.
I wasn't there so you guys might have better judgement, but the majority of the people bitching about "Abel" were literally some of the worst kinds of people. Seems like by all accounts the good stuff was still good.
I wouldn't be so quick to write this one off considering they reenforced its existence in that Firefly article. This has been one bitch of an upward battle for them to not be in for the long haul. It just seems like a lot of the problems were out of their control.

Thats a little much. I loved Sunday and I thought it was the best festival day I have ever been to in NYC (been to multiple Gov Balls and Meadows) but I would have been really disappointed if I took a day off and The Weeknd got cancelled due to rain

Well, you could say that about the Cardi B or Greta Van Fleet cancellation. But when you book someone who is notorious for cancelling and they cancel, the blame falls on you.
It's like if you have a snake as a pet and it bites your friend. It's your fault for having it there, not the snakes for doing what a snake does.
I was more alluding to the people who sabotaged their every post because Friday was canceled due to potentially hazardous weather and they didn't get to see The Weeknd. I mean we have all dealt with weather cancelations. It sucks because plans and all, but I know that my enemy isn't the event itself.
Some of the same ones bitched for a partial refund because Lil Wayne didn't show.
I haven't seen any estimates, but judging by the photos and videos I've seen it looks like this sold the best out of it's 3 years.
They cut the venue in half, lowered capacity by 10k people, and reconfigured the part they did use so everyone would have to be packed in.
Friday was the only day that sold well from what I hear. But because of the rain cancellation, theyll probably come out ahead money wise anyway from the insurance pay out.

We couldn't play football when lightning would strike within a 10 mile radius of the field. Precautions are precautions. I'm sure festivals and city officials have even more extreme rules in place to keep the masses safe in an event like this.

But in this case we aren't dealing with snakes. We are dealing with "professionals". With a new album on the way this could have been a solid starting point for a relaunch but he clearly wasn't ready or simply didn't want to. When Sly melted down at Coachella 2010, I didn't blame Goldenvoice for the incident. "Sly is Sly", I thought, but I moved on with my life and still appreciated the attempt. It's not the promotor's job to make sure the artist has their shit together on performance day. Their job is just to provide the stage/opportunity. It's almost comical to not put all of the blame on Wayne.
Curious to know how the ticket sales were. I was only there on Sun but it definitely seemed a lot more crowded than the NIN-headlined Sunday of last year though that could be due to the overall smaller area.

Maybe Lil Wayne really couldn't make it? I have a hard time believing a random inforoo person received picture evidence from a nightclub in Miami that specific night.
Kind of like the random inforooer who caught Kanye hours before his Bonnaroo performance partying it up in Atlanta or whatever? Who knows. In this case I just kept thinking about how at least Lil' Wayne and Greta Van Fleet mostly suck so it was whatever. All signs point to an actual flight cancelation though which again should not result in any kind of compensation.
Did not realize how passionate some of these Abel fans are though. That's even after I experienced a Hot Chip set with many of them riding the rail back when he was still rising at Lolla. Should have known better I guess.

Two stories going around from credible non inforoo sources:
Either they knew days beforehand that he wasn't showing up; and chose not to say anything because they weren't planning on finding a replacement and didn't want it to impact their ticket sales/buzz.
or
Flight really was delayed, but they knew hours beforehand and were trying to get Gucci Mane to switch.
I tend to believe the former, just because if they had hours notice; they could have easily had Gucci Mane go up there in that time slot to try and stall; and then if it didn't work out they could have just announced the cancellation during that later set time.
Either way pretty crappy and bad planning on their part to have everyone just standing around that stage for 30+ min.
I thought there was some story on a reputable site that said that Wayne doesnt like NYC and wanted to be in NYC for a little time as possible so he cut the flights too close and his flight actually got him cancelled.

I never get the bad, real boy joke. He doesn't need me to but I can confirm that tЯist♡n is rad as hell. Even IRL. Guess it's just best for old Launchy to stick with those awkward, off-base, "personal", verbal assaults.
Anyways, I hope this festival makes it. It can be great and it seems like many of us have already had some fantastic experiences here even in its short lifespan.

I just can't understand why people who bought tickets to see Lil Wayne would be upset that he didn't show up, that they stood around waiting for him even though the promoters either had days or hours prior knowledge, and they won't get a refund. He sucks anyway. Fans of his could have seen Floating Points near the bank of porta potties on the total opposite side of the muddy field anyway. All those Lil Wayne/Floating Points crossover fans.
