Same here! I haven't been out on the pier in 4 years, but my wife insists that she tries the Blueberry IPA and she's buying!
Wait, have they announced what beers will be there? We MAYBE go once/fest, either to listen to an act we've already seen a few times at the Quad or take in a Fort set we aren't particularly invested in.
Not that I know of, but the Blueberry Ale or IPA is new.
Also said that Justin Vernon was going to be at one of the Deer Tick aftershows last year.

Which means, for you to correct about Deer Tick on the main stage, they’d have to be backing someone right?
Or is that no longer happening?
I really don’t know. The Ticks did say they were playing the main stage, but that was about 6 months ago, so..... Dawes is starting a huge tour August 2nd. They could likely be in Newport as well.
Pretty happy that I have Deer Tick tickets for Sunday. I may prefer Saturday marginally more, only because it would save me from having to wake up early to see Caamp (and I assume they’d be even better in a small club), but Sunday’s bill is fire. Not a fan of the openers on Friday (I can’t get into Tank for the life of me).
Also, I’ll keep you guys updated in case I have any extras.
I’m super happy with the deer tick lineup. Felt like with the “competition” of Pickens and other shows, DT wasn’t pulling the guests like they did back in the day, but these days are money. Can’t wait.
Ouch, it’s the first year in the last 5 that I don’t have Tick tickets. Hurts bad. Looking forward to Glorietta Friday night and Father John Saturday. I’m guessing Father John isn’t going to have guests since it’s billed as “an evening with”

This is my first time planning on hanging out around the city after the fest on Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights. I assume most restaurants and bars are nightmares the weekend of the fest? Any tips? Places to try? Places to make a reservation? Fun bars that may not be too crowded? We will be staying across the bridge/causeway with the beaches (across the water from the cliff walk, I think).

If you like seafood, you must go to Flo’s! It’s right next to where you’re staying!

Flo's is a classic. I also really enjoy Boru Noodle Bar. If you're trying to keep the live music going, Pour Judgement (good beer selection) and Jimmy's Saloon (great bands but will get packed) are solid options. And in the morning, Rosemary & Thyme is 10/10 spot for coffee and pastries.
