There's a new music festival in County Waterford, Ireland held on August 3rd. Looks like it has Fleet Foxes and First Aid Kit. Since First Aid Kit will be in Europe early July and now August 3rd I reckon its a long shot they'll be at Newport this year. Might be wrong though.

FAK was already playing Cambridge Folk before that announcement. I don’t think it rules them out yet.

Yeah it’s only a 7 hour flight, I know it well. However that gives me the idea that we should have a newport presents across the pond and have a weekend event on the west coast of Ireland.
Radiohead at TD Garden 7/28 & 7/29. Free the 27th. I'd be very surprised if Sturgill isn't headlining that night (and he deserves it), but a guy can dream.

how did radiohead manage to put their first new england shows in 6 fucking years the same days as Newport. im considering selling my Newport ticket for it.

Love that idea. They could invite Hozier, Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey plus some old Irish folk legends. Surprised Ireland doesn't have a dedicated folk festival. The festivals tend to mix of all genres. I think Dublin has a trad fest. I know the Oh Hellos played that last year.
I'm really bummed Radiohead conflicts too. They've been on my bucket list since the 90s. I'll hope but probably a long shot.

How stupid would it be to leave Newport around 5pm and go straight to the Radiohead show on Sunday?
In 2015 we left a half hour after Sufjan finished (so like 6:30 or so) to go see Slayer at Xfinity Center. I remember racing towards the water taxi's and getting there just in time before a huge queue formed, which means that otherwise we would have had to wait longer. Ended up arriving in Mansfield around 8:30 or so.

Do you also do the Newport aftershows? It's not like each night of NFF goes until 11. And sunscreen is a lifesaver.
So pumped about this announcement. We have 2 headline quality artists already announced in the first 10, so much for the talk around here of a slow start.
