Since I only have a Saturday ticket, I immediately put in a request on Lyte for a Sunday ticket after this announcement. Not sure what my chances are, since I'm #118 in line
Gary Clark Jr. is phenomenal live - I saw him last year with My Morning Jacket and at the Royale a few years ago.

Given Gary Clark Jr. is playing on Sunday, I wonder if we could see Gary Clark Jr. on the fort stage followed by Buddy Guy to close out Sunday. Or perhaps that's leaning too much into packing the blues into a condensed period of time and if Buddy were playing he would play on Saturday to spread the big blues guys across a larger span of days.

I like GC Jr. I think he's a phenomenal player. I've just seen him 3x in the last 12 months at festivals, opening for MMJ, etc. and I don't need to see him again unless he's got new music. I've seen the show before. We'll prob be leaving early on this day to ****Hopefully**** get to the Blues Cafe early
If I manage to get a Sunday ticket, you can bet I'll be as close as I can to the stage for Gary Clark Jr. I've seen him twice but he's always a great time - and I imagine that seeing him in this setting would be very cool (I missed him the first time he was at the Fort)
I’m still the token curmudgeon after this announcement.
Gary Clark Jr is a phenomenal guitar player. And I am surprised he hasn’t played NFF in 6 (ish) years; he’s definitely due. But I treat him as I do most jam bands. I understand the appeal. And they’re often talented enough that I would catch the set from a lawn chair if nothing else is on. But the lack of a solid album to sing along to on my way home from work every day prevents me from fully embracing and anticipating the show.
Plus, he tours so much that anyone interested has likely seen his show.
I’m no longer negative on the lineup though. I have three bands so far I am really excited to see: Courtney, Sturgill, and War and Treaty. Hoping for quite a few more though (come on indie-folk... don’t let 2018 be the year you die).

I agree, I like Gary Clark Jr too, but I have seen his show 4-5 times and it has not changed that much. If he has a new album out this year, then that will get me excited for the set, otherwise I may check out the other folks playing. I'm a big fan of all the other announcements so far.
Great announcement. But I'd argue he's the first possible headliner...if you throw in guests. Headliners are a strange brew of talent, flair, popularity, and name recognition or legend. Maybe Courtney Barnett, although her monotonic sound is an acquired taste thatI many have not acquired. I would leave early. Sturgill Simspon not there yet. Still, a talented lineup, and frankly I'd love a surprise headliner.

Sturgill is the most likely headliner out of the announced artists so far.
This is such a weird statement for me to read. I live right next to Cohasset and I always forget about the music circus. It's such a tiny town that nothing ever happens in.
Question for you all - have any of you used the Lyte service for tickets? If so, how was it?
I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a two-day pass for this year, so I signed up for a Sunday single ticket but I'm #118 in line. Will I have a chance to get a ticket? I'd rather go through this as opposed to paying somebody on StubHub or whatever. I appreciate any insight you can provide!

You will definitely get a ticket that high in the order. And don’t get discouraged if you don’t move up much for months. Last year hundreds got filled in July.
