Give me Arcade Fire on Saturday and Bruce on Sunday!
So we figure the Saturday night headliner is the one open slot. This is either due to a delayed announcement, in which case, it doesn't need to be spectacular. Could be Jack White due to Boston Calling or another artist who is performing in the Boston area and waiting for tickets to sell out or similar (Beck, Paul Simon, etc.) As much as I would like Arcade Fire, I can't imagine them waiting until the mid-July Boston concert to announce them and/or leaving them as a surprise unannounced guest.
If they go the route of unannounced guest for a headliner, the stakes are high and it needs to be someone that would be universally loved. Imagine having to choose from the Sunday night quad closer and an unannounced fort headliner. You better have someone that people won't be upset about. So, that leaves legends: Bruce, Neil Young.
The best would be some combination of the above. Arcade Fire has performed with both Bruce Springstein and Neil Young at least once (as seen on YouTube.)
Other thing I would say is that the headliner often has a crossover with someone else on the lineup. Think Wilco and Billy Bragg or John Prine and everyone else. So, if you look at the other artists on Saturday, there may be clues. Most obvious is the Promise of the Real as a back-up band for Neil Young. Would say Kurt Vile/War on Drugs because of the obvious Courtney Barnett connection but they are already booked in Camden that day and while there is lots of XPonential crossover hard to imagine them headlining both on the same day. That being said I am really surprised they/he aren't on the lineup anywhere.
Anyone else?
Neil is currently doing shows with Crazy Horse again, so I wouldn't give too much investment into the Promise of the Real connection at the moment

I mean he's still doing shows with PotR throughout the summer, mostly at events they're also playing on their own. I don't think it's gonna happen, but it's not completely out of the question

There is a decent representation of artists that contributed to The National’s Grateful Dead cover album (Day of the Dead). Jenny Lewis, Courtney Barnett, Moses Sumney, Lucius, Lone Bellow, The Walkmen (err Hamilton Leithauser), Hiss Golden Messenger, This is the Kit. Jim James is probably around to contribute too. Given scheduling, would look more likely to happen on Saturday (most of those artists are booked for Saturday) if the National’s tour schedule doesn’t rule it out. This may need to be announced after Boston Calling as well since the National are booked for that.

Sharon frequents enough, and Hornsby is also open (but he’s never played)

I'm sure most of you know this, but The National did a Day of the Dead set at Eaux Claires in 2016 and the guestlist was insane. It would be incredible if they ever did it again, though I'm selfishly hoping for it at next year's Homecoming Fest since NFF is out of the cards.
between "arcade fire + bruce!" and "day of the dead set feat. the national!" we are officially encroaching "dont get your hopes up" territory for me.
either of those would be dreams come true for me (AF, bruce, the nat all in my top 10 artists of all time ever), but i am going to continue to not count my chickens for fear that the Saturday headliner ends up being brandi carlile or gary clark (who you may enjoy but are both at the far end of the "meh" scale for me).

Anyone else expecting some tributes/covers for Frightened Rabbit? I'm not too familiar with them so not sure which acts are associated with them and would maybe do that.

Definitely a "don't get your hopes up" mood at this point with so many huge names being thrown around. For me, though, anything extra is just icing on the cake. I'm very happy with the lineup.

Lots of outpouring of respect from musicians but I just don't think their music is well-known enough to warrant a lot of covers.
I also only think Scott can/should sing most of those songs

Yea, like I said i'm not too familiar with them. I definitely could see some kind words/tributes before or after songs.
i think someone else mentioned it but it would be greet to at least get a tease of the glorietta sound before tickets go on sale but time is ticking away...
I like those Glorietta prices. If I don’t get the Sunday Deer Tick aftershow tickets I think I will try for Glorietta one of the nights.
Not to mention, there’s a damn good chance for some great “Friends”. Taylor and John doing a Middle Brother number? Brownout? Phoebe Bridgers doing that haunting musical rendition with Noah? Black Pumas? Wild Child?

Striking me on the aftershows:
Please Note: These shows are 21+ with ID required. Will Call is the only allowed delivery method. No alternate pickup is allowed and tickets may not be transferred to another party.

The FAQ for the Deer Tick tickets does say this, though. So wonder what the final verdict is.
Seated doesn't currently place any restrictions on the transfer or resale of tickets. We understand that plans can change and sometimes you will no longer be able to attend an event. We'll always help you get rid of your tickets when we can.
If your tickets are left for Will Call pickup...
If your tickets have been left at will call, then you can contact support@seated.com to have the name on the will call list changed. We request that you do this at least 48 hours before the event - otherwise we can not ensure that the box office will receive the update in time.
Also, considering The blues cafe has said that you can't transfer/change tickets every year but they tend to let you (as long as the buyer shows up with the people who are taking the tickets) I'd guess it should still be possible.
