Some Glen Hansard Gems getting me excited to see him again.
Practicing The Auld Triangle for his future Newport set with Elvis Costello, Imelda Mae and many others at the Royal Albert Hall in 2014. Imelda Mae would be a good future get for Newport.

Given Jack White's performance on Saturday, his new material would not fit at Newport. Could see him doing a like a Muddy Waters tribute set or something like that though.

Speaking of BC. St. Vincent’s performance was fantastic! Some would say the same about her performance and it working for Newport.
includes st vincent opening on some dates and a nice little gap between 7/13 in germany and 8/5 in montreal. seems like a possible fit, though if they were going to announce you think they might have coincided it with this announcment. maybe tomorrow?

Given Jack White's performance on Saturday, I am still not a Jack White fan. I gave it a real go, but alas... still no.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Yes please. But that Boston date makes me think it’s a no go. Unless it’s unnannounced?
Given that I keep convincing myself that certain artists I once hoped for should be ruled out, my next theory involves the following possible headline:
“Mumford and Sons announce new album; will headline iconic Newport Folk Festival”
i suppose ill give it a day consider most nff news drops on mon/weds/fri but so much for the whole "wait til after boston calling" theory.
altho i will admit that after my hundreth check of day by day artists this weekend, i found more than enough to fill three days worth. at the moment id say i am more concerned that they overbooked Friday than that they underbooked the weekend.
isbell, sturgill, glorietta, margo, lucius, st vincent, wood bros IN ONE DAY? insanity. and that's just headliner worthy bands i wanna see so it excludes big names im not fan of (ben harper) and small bands ill def see no matter what (darlingside, tyler)

Has anyone ever gone busking in the fort with a harp?
For the most part, I’ve narrowed down my annual festival choice set to Riot Fest and Newport Folk. Riot Fest won last year. Newport this year.
However, Father John Misty just leaked that he will be at Riot Fest. Earlier today, Riot Fest hinted that Elvis Costello and Beck will be there as well. Now that Riot Fest is giving me a small, but awesome dose of folk (Dropkick Murphys were hinted at earlier today as well and I’ve always considered them a welcome act at Newport), I’m starting to second guess!

Gwar should definitely play Newport it would be hilarious seeing everyone walking around soaked in blood of whoever they’re killing onstage these days probably Trump
Just caught yesterday's feed of Jack White at Governor's Ball. Tore the paint off the walls, ending a bit toned down, with a satisfying performance of Steady As She Goes and, I gather 7 Nation Army. Don't know where Newport is heading this year (not sure they know), but although in the past I've written, Jack White, been there, done that...decided I'm down for another go. Prefer that over the umpteenth appearance of certain performers who must live at the Fort.
P.S. - Always forget to ask. Anyone know why he calls his new number, Ice Station Zebra? Back in 19*&@ my mom landed tickets to the premiere of Ice Station Zebra, a John Sturgis spy/submarine film with Rock Hudson and Ernest Borgnine, who everyone at the door was still calling "Marty." And if you get those references, along with the song's reference to Cool Hand Luke, you win some kind of booby prize and owe me a beer.
Anyone had any luck with ticket exchanges through Seated? Have some trades lined up, but haven't heard back from them (unless it got caught in my spam filter)
