Between Gov Ball, Pano, Afropunk, and Summer NY shows, most of these names can be crossed off. Only headliners possible would be Macca and Metallica, neither of which I think are what the Meadows are looking for.
Hozier and Camilo Cabello are the highest name that seems to make sense for this.
The Neighbourhood, who I assumed would be a perfect fit for this festival, announced 2 area dates in early Oct which is making me wonder if this still has a chance of happening.

Didn't Launchy say that none of the undercard has been booked and just the headliners are on retainer?
If that's the case and they still haven't locked down the venue, it's going to be a mad scramble to book an entire undercard and get this announced in the next 20 days or so (have to assume it'll come out before Gov Ball so they can market it there).
I really hope not. That would be dumb. This can still work great and sell out as a 2 day late September Festival, whether it's in a Parking Lot or Grassy Oasis.

Is the reason they're leaving Citi Field because the venue won't have them again, or because they're hoping for something better? Cuz if the choice is between Citi Field or no festival, why not just settle at Citi again?

A big reason for last years low Fri and Sat sales are being blamed on location. Fans arent big on it and neither are the artists. New location is better for everyone. If they can't lock that down, no point in even having it.

I find it fascinating that their calculus in the year that Panorama ends is that there is no point in even having it. With Gov Ball and The Meadows there, I dont think any other company would try to enter the NYC major festival market. If its just Gov Ball there will always be someone else who thinks they can enter that market and beat Gov Ball
*It's funny, because there are SO MANY shows this year, and my concert lineup for the summer/early fall is already stupid full. But the loss of a fun festival...it hurts.

Yeah, can never complain about not being able to see shows in NY, but Festivals are fun and allow you to see bands and acts you aren't prepared to invest an entire night to. It sucks that it seems like there is about to be only 1 NY Festival, at least for rock/alt fans.
