So my bad on the Arcade Fire, obviously they are over seas lol. Jack Johnson is for sure that i remember. I get the names of these hipster type bands confused. I will find out more but it is a band like that.
my first usage of the dislike button goes tooooooooooo .....
It would make sense sense in terms of routing as they are at Firefly the same weekend. It would make sense in terms of the delay in announcement as they are waiting for them to announce the tour. It would make sense in terms of what I heard about the lineup. Just weird.

Arcade Fire and the Arctic Monkeys are not even close to being the same band, nor are they similar in sound. Are you kidding me here?
I don't listen to either band, got the names mixed up. I do like Jack Johnson though.
A guy with an inside scoop on a music festival lineup can't distinguish the Grammy award-winning Arcade Fire and some boring British indie-rock band. Right.

Arcade Fire is light years ahead of Arctic Monkeys. One had David Bowie featured on their album and followed that up with an amazing 5th album, the other is a niche artist. One performed and won a Grammy, the other can't sell out a 1,500 capacity venue on a weekend. One is actually good, while the other is just a product of internet message board echochambers. Wondering why Arctic Monkeys would be a letdown as their HUGE announcement is a bit like people wondering why festivals don't sell well when LCD soundsystem headlines.

I love both of those bands. I like Arcade Fire more... Did you actually listen to that 5th album? It was a let down with the exception of maybe 3 tracks, and far from amazing.

I just can't see either band headlining Mountain Jam. This fest is basically in Woodstock, and the reaction to Beck was pretty mixed. Hell, even the Black Keys were too mainstream for a lot of people I talked to. We'll see what the reaction is this year if the shift is this intense.

Arctic Monkeys are at Firefly that weekend so its possible. They arent that far removed from The Black Keys... But I just really can't see them fitting in with this fest.

From the popularity level to the average 40+ year old attendee at Mountain Jam...I'd imagine their popularity is much different than the BK in 2015. But I'm no expert.

Arctic Monkeys makes more sense since they are in the area around that time but they are a pretty weird fit. I wouldn’t be that surprised because the direction they have been going but people are going to be pissed if it’s true. I actually think they are a solid band and will put on a good show but the old MJ veterans will have their minds made up before they take the stage. They are a big draw this year since they haven’t toured since 2014 so i’m sure a lot of festivals are trying to get them.
Jack Johnson is too mellow for a headliner but he is a big name. Another pretty weird fit but nothing would really surprise me anymore. If they got him he would have to be a headliner right? I️ guess I️ can see him playing Sunday night since that’s where the more mellow act usually plays. Interesting.
