I'm glad that you are on board but I am concerned that the central message is not reaching the people it needs to reach
I think the central message has reached everyone it’s going to reach.
What if you're wrong? What if I can lovingly guide just one more misguided hangout thread poster onto the noble path of not yelling slurs at concerts? Isn't it worth a shot?

Don't say the n word, even if the person telling you not to say the n word is totally a hypocrite
it remains amazing how rappers can pack in thousands of folks who love them but simultaneously have little to no interaction with black people in their actual lives
Don't say the n word, even if the person telling you not to say the n word is totally a hypocrite
You have made your point.
You actually can't make this point enough, especially with people practically sighing "This conversation is still going on huh? Sheesh" but yeah. I don't know emoney but there's never a wrong messenger to stop White people from shouting racial slurs, no matter the context. Too bad this thread had to be dug up, the other one was much more aptly named

I must have really done a number on some of the people in here if I can say something like "Don't say racial slurs" and they reflexively start trying to fight with me
Im sure there are some people who take their "rap lifestyle" too seriously and it may cause some sort of negative consequence. I also think that # is negligible to the overall scheme of generations of socioeconomic supression. Also, there are probably an equal number of folks taking the "insert other genres of music" lifestyle too seriously as well with some negative consequence. In short, rap it isn't a cause, but rather a symptom of oppresion and/or poverty. To cure an illness, you treat the cause, not the symptoms.

2018 Fest notes (General Admin access):
Security: For years now, those gates have been a necessary evil. It was nerve-racking and invasive. This year it was actually okay. Metal detectors are in place, and we weren't patted down. The security people didn't look miserable. They were very friendly and helpful. There was a red rover line of police officers that we had to walk through to scan our wristbands; but, compared to previous years, it was easy-peasey. HUGE IMPROVEMENT.
Layout: The fest grounds are smaller, but we never felt crowded. There are also more places to relax throughout the grounds. Beach access was very easy. I really enjoyed the new layout.
Ticket price: The GA 2019 loyalty ticket price is $220. The GA 2018 loyalty ticket price was $239.
Drinks: No dedicated craft beer tent. Only Corona or XX. We heard rumors of Good People being available at one of the tents, but we couldn't find it. We adapted by getting the party bags of gin and tonics from the Hangout bar. I highly recommend the party bag.
Food: The Gulf Coastal Seafood tent (or whatever it was called) wasn't there. There also didn't seem to be as many food truck options, but I could be mistaken on that. For us, the Asian food tent saved the day. They were very accommodating and would pile on the veggies and/or mix and match items. As always, Spicy Pie was on point.
Interesting. The line-up was downsized about 10+ bands and a stage was axed? I'm all for a smaller fest with a better line-up. I honestly don't think we need to choose from 3-4 stages of music. Some festivals are doing very well with just 2 or stages and a limit on overlap. Let Lolla, Roo, ACL, Firefly bring the massive 6-10 stages of music to choose from.

These are very interesting notes. Thanks. A festival dropping the price of anything for year ten is compelling, if not fascinating. Sounds like there will be some sort of shift. Color me intrigued. Did you catch Poolside by chance?
