Lumineers have some good songs but they are boring as shit live. Would never think they would leap to headliner. Seems like they havent even been around much the last few years.
That's basically been the philosophy since GV took over in 2016. I think the Killers are the most 'seasoned' act that has headlined since '15...in that article with O'Connel last year he said he wants bands 'in the now'. So who wants a lousy legend when you can have Khalid.
I disagree with all the Lumineers hating on here. I've seen them a bunch and they are fun live and sound great. I also really enjoyed their last album as well. Their first album was one of those stacked albums front to back. May be in the minority here, but I think this is one of their better bookings. I've been hoping they would book the Lumineers since I started going in 14. Too bad it's this year with this garbage lineup.
This is the worst lineup for a major festival I have ever seen.
As bad as that is, at least it had Kendrick and a good amount of gems in the undercard like Injury Reserve, Jpegmafia, Forth wanderers, Show Me The Body, Pusha T etc.

Sure on a good festival lineup they are 4-6 booking wise. That is not this lineup.
not really. they re like a 3rd line act at a fest like this if it wasnt catering strictly to teenagers. Even with the last 2 years being so down they booked acts who were established as an HL or being promoted everywhere like Chance and 21P. Only exception really being the Chainsmokers but even they would be more expected than the Lumineers.

I actually not that upset with the lumineers. If imagine they will have similar vibe to Mumford’s on the beach minus the catologue of songs but should make for a good show opposite the boom booms Diplo or something. It’s the Khalid that’s hard to swallow although I imagine he gets the surf stage sundown slot similar to what they were going to do with Sam smith the year he was added and then dropped probably before Travis.
and modern vampires will be even older then. im just saying as far as relevance lumineers > vamps. they've at least released some singles recently, I'd bet that they have a new album out before VW.

Taylor Bennett’s set at Lolla this year was trash. Had an obnoxious hype man telling people to jump about 4 times per song. It was at Perry’s tho, so take that with a grain of salt.

Yeah since Hangout sucked so bad this year I’m skipping completely and looking to either go back to Beale St or do shaky knees or welcome to Rockville if they get tool and System of a Down
