Big Something is fun. Matisyahu was popular about 15 years ago for his roots rap/reggae stuff. What is the deal with a "Jerry Dance Party" on the main stage? Wasn't that DJ stuff that was in Garcia's Forest before? Butcher Brown is kind of fun. People's Blues of Richmond is decent. Haven't even heard of the rest.

Lots of good lower level stuff here for me:
1. Erin & The Wildfire 2. Butcher Brown 3. Caitlyn Smith 4. Band of Changes (Are Scott Metzger/Dave Dreiwitz/Eric Slick gonna be a part of this?) 5. People's Blues of Richmond (they rock) 6. Southern Avenue (Enjoyable blues/r&B)
Haven't heard anything of Agent of Good Roots, which looks to be a local VA band from the 90s. Matisyahu doesn't move the label much for me unless he's recreating that Live at Stubbs Vol. 1 release that he's doing at another fest this summer.
I don't like P-Funk getting more time, should have gone to Panic or Turkuaz. Would rather they just dumped that Jerry Dance Party thing (or not made it 90 minutes), put one of the Saturday bands there, and extended the sets for BS, Foundation of FUnk, and Pigeons...Same with Sunday, if Keller is really 2 hours, that's too long for that. Give the time to Spafford.

Compare it to Fare Thee Well last year. It’s really cheap music for the few people who will be milling around
I sign off on this set if it's anything like this.
This is fucking excellent. Almost makes up for no Neil Young!
Going off this, idk what size additions we should be expecting but I'd love to see Dean Ween Group and/or Dr. Dog come on board. Both have new albums on the way
I had no idea matisyahu was still around. I actually enjoyed his set at bonnaroo in 2005, his band was pretty tight.
southern Avenue is pretty good. Their lead guitarist is an Israeli who came to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge and ended up staying in the US, forming a band in Memphis and being the first on the newly reformed Stax label. They've been getting on the bottom lines of fests like Electric Forest, Okeechobee, and Bonnaroo the past two years.

...saw them open for big head the other night...the front girl makes it kind of poppy.
So if I get a place at Wintergreen from airbnb am I going to have any trouble getting to and from the festival? Especially late nights? It doesent seem to be more than an inch or so away according to my map but any tips or suggestions are appreciated. We could camp, just trying to cut down cargo for the ride and encourage more to come with us.

They sell packages with Wintergreen with a shuttle so it shouldn't be too hard!

Artist collab announcements will be coming soon according to an updated graphic on their website. Need some Lockn news to get me through these cold weather months.

Some Lockn collabs announced
The LOCKN' Festival has revealed two special collaborative sets scheduled for this year. Over the weekend of Aug. 23-26, saxophonist Branford Marsalis will sit in with Dead & Company and drummer Jason Bonham will join Umphrey's McGee.
looking like I may be attending this for the first time this year. Any general tips? this threads been quiet for a while.
Yeah, inforoo in general is not big into the jam scene. I would definitely recommend it. The weather can be very comparable to Bonnaroo. As you would expect, much older demographic compared to most camping festivals. I would say this year it would be even more so with Dead & Co playing. They have did a good job in the past focusing on VA craft beer and food trucks.
It's a pricey festival. Just saw on social media weekend passes are going up in a few days.

It's pretty easy. Very small. Only recommendations are get in there, stake your ground with a chair that you can come back to. Pace yourself, as you don't want to miss late nights (usually).

When you say "stake your ground" is there just one big GA field for the whole thing? Do people stand in the front and sit in the back? Or is it just a free for all?

Like Newport, there's a "no chairs in front of this point." Above that is standing. I think they have these lines at both stages (and even at the 3rd Garcia's forest stage.) A lot of people just throw down a blanket/chair there and return to it for rest throughout the day.
Rumors from LF, that Margo Price and Taj Mahal are TBA. Not into Margo, but I'd be thrilled with Taj.
I'm into Margo, and Taj. Both would be excellent additions. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. Finally secured my ticket and camping pass yesterday. Can't wait!
