As a live band The Who before and after Who's Next are two very different animals.
Also, unrelated, but they better be cooking up some god shit for Woodstock's 50th in 2019. If it's as neutered as that Monterey fest this year that'll be a shame

oh yeah i have no doubt, I've not gotten tickets to them before just because i didn't want to pay the price to not see Moon or John, but I bet there's more overlap of the fan bases than expected.

Definitely, thy wouldn't be too shocking on the lineup, but they do seem like a pretty big name if Lockn also got Dead & Co.
I was really into The Who back when I was in middle school and first getting into classic rock. Went to see them in '08 and it was a fun show. Watched part of the live stream of their OSL set and was fairly impressed.

Grateful Dave on Facebook has basically locked in Dead & Co. that’s just a Dream for me but i have no idea how it’s going to work in that new venue unless they knock down a lot more trees and do some serious grading. Thought it felt way crowded last year because of the layout and there were only what 15-20k? You’d imagine they’d double that if they wanted with D&C

Yeah Dead and Co has pretty much been confirmed. I felt the same. It seemed way crowded last year with the lowest attendance yet. I dont know gowntheyd manage Dead and Co without going back to a bigger setup.

They can mess around with the layout a lot easier than one would think, they have a ton of land to work with.

Per Dave Frey; "Sorry, but this “artwork” isn’t accurate nor did anyone at LOCKN’ issue it. First talent announce is late January or early February. We are very excited about the line up and hope that you all are also when we declare next year.”

From a very reliable source ...
OK, here is the latest. Dave Frey is working on a new music venue and brewery in downtown Lynchburg. My friend is working with him on various parts of this endeavor. Friend asked Frey when the announcements were coming. Dave's reply...**soon**...can't make this up. Anyhow Dave told him that Dead and Company were playing two nights/two sets per night, TTB was playing two nights, WSP was closing Friday night and JRAD was back. My friend just called me to share the info. Friend asked who the "classic rock" act was and Dave said he was still working on it but that it was not The Who. That's all I got.
Believe it if you need it, if you don't just pass it on

Dead & Co. pretty much gets me there alone. Dancing in a field 2 nights >>> dancing in a baseball stadium 1 night
