Anyone here see Mount Kimbie last year? How were they?
Blow away. Sunday talk starts around Page 90 of the 2017 thread. We got the live 3 piece act and not a DJ set, so it was even more all that.
Me: Mount Kimbie is a really really good collection of musicians. It was cool they put that set on the Blue Stage. A+ --------------------------------- jonesjupiter [tm]: Mount Kimbie was my favorite thing of the weekend. ---------------------------------
rothric: Fav sets Sunday: Justice Mount Kimbie (tied, I can't pick between those two. Absolutely amazing )
---------------------------------
truevine: 5. Mount Kimbie (ranks)
---------------------------------
me: 4. Mount Kimbie - This was a pass-by but ended up being a highlight. I can't wait to see them again.

DRAGON ENERGY: 2. Mount Kimbie
This initially surprised me, but he was like wtf do you think I listen to.
DE: Now I'm honestly just curious what kinda music you think I like. Mount Kimbie's genre basically is my alley.
Me: You listen or speak about lots of different types of music That was perfection live but had a progressive side to it. I figured for electronic though more Euro drug-styles of house but less live. I know you like sonic shiz and I knew Rothric did too by his description of OPN last year. So this being that high up on your list, essentially the 1 for music, could have gone either way...
Just what I found off of Pages 90-94. It probably goes on. Think maybe the deft playing of a band like Chon except as a 3 piece with a lot of melody but also very electronic bent. Shit was good man.
They are definitely waiting until after Float Fest (Omar is old high school buddies with the producer of it). They'll start ramping up media and teases in August then release the lineup in September - which is normal (2016 was Sept. 21; 2017 was Sept. 20th.)
I aint worried now that he has said it's still happening. Just trying to contain my severe impatience and anticipation.
Are bands playing Austin in the fall out for this? Would like PiL plz.
I say it's a good/bad thing one way or the other. More depends on when/where the tour ends. I would also like that.
Cool, I wasn't sure what radius clause is since I've only been once and I'm a man of the north. Also looking for Televangel on the lower part of this lineup.
Gonna get amped up even more just from visiting Houston in a couple of weeks for ELO. Not very often you get to scratch off the top of your bucket list!
I hear you 100% r. It doesn't make sense to me especially since Float is pretty close to a sellout and has been on low ticket alert since last week. If there is truth to it, maybe because it's also small and independent, Omar could be letting them have their glory alone. That's the only thing I can think of. At the end of the day, assuming they are having it as Omar said they would, it's not hurting anyone to divulge more than just that it's on.
