Cool deal. I'd love for this to happen, but again, I don't see the founder hinting at it ending until they're certain and are ready to release an announcement.
The Reddit Omar said he would prove that he was real by posting his favorite moment (a youtube video of Arca performing) with a specific hashtag onto the d4n Facebook. Then it happened. So the Reddit Omar was 1) really Omar, 2) some lackey that works for Day For Night and has access to the official FB account, 3) a skilled reddit Facebook hacker. All are possible.
I’m not holding my breath for this to happen but I went through their twitter history and they didn’t start teasing anything until August last year. Though I guess we knew the dates already because of the presale.
I mentioned this last week, and the lineup has never come out earlier than mid September. I ain't worried until we're in mid August and still no signs of nuthin'.
The 2nd part of that gif is hitting a bunch of springs at the bottom of the ocean and being stuck in a perpetual loop of sinking and floating, sinking and floating, up and down, up and down, which is a good representation of whats happening in here.
We already have two legit sources telling us they haven’t even started booking anything for this.
That does it...
RIP D4N 2018. I've yet to receive any communication via email/social media about 2018, and there's no way they'll be able to pull off corralling a decent lineup this late in the year barring some miracle. I wish they would let us know what the deal is. Wasn't expecting this fest to succumb to the bubble...
Even though D4N is totally happening, if it didn't, as Phi said earlier, at least I'll be able to pay some debt off
Someone with graphic skillz should make a fake lineup poster. The social media reaction to the Hangout Fest one Inforoo did several years ago was epic. It got them to drop their lineup faster def...

i pm'd omar on reddit requesting proof of life last week, no response, not that i expected one.
i've entered the acceptance phase that this isn't happening. december was always a pain in the ass time for me to drive 8 hours to a music festival, but it was always well worth the hassle.
Pitchfork fucking blew it, desert daze is too expensive/one note, eaux claires is way too expensive. I could see myself trying to do III points if DfN closed out, but Miami isn't a very cheap city either from what I've heard.
My fiancé and I ordered two cocktails while down there. It was $33, not including tip. Also I distinctly remember a Corona being $11. It's ludicrous.
One of my favorite thing about Australia is not having to tip and tax being included in all sticker prices. Love upfront pricing.
Beautiful. Thanks r. I don't have Facebook to respond, "Sigur Ros", but there are already 279 comments in 33 minutes since the post. So obviously people are itching for this to happen.
I don't have a Facebook, but where do I send my bucket?? It's getting pretty full after talking to beebee and wufinancial at Mo Pop about their experience last year. My partner and I are committed to flying down, if the lineup looks anything similar to the last two years. Absolutely livid that I missed that Hissing Fauna set...
March probably doesn't work there because of the proximity to SXSW. Also, it can't be on Buku weekend. Even though D4N will have a lineup I'll want to see more than Buku, I'm not going to leave town that weekend. I'm fine with November, December, January or February (assuming no conflict with Mardi Gras).

I always thought it would be a good idea to have a fest around the same time as Sx and around the same region. Sx is expensive and is mostly attended by industry insiders, Austin locals, and other bands. Denton 35 used to be a week before Sx and would catch some good acts coming through on their way to Austin.

In Bloom already takes place in Houston in March and I'm not sure they would want to compete even if the fests are pretty different.

It's the same company running both. I don't know how much of a success In Bloom was, but if they want to keep that going, D4N would have to stay in the Winter, move to fall and compete with ACL, or move to Summer. Summer in Houston would be brutal.
