Seems like the D4N fanbase is quite monolithic, perhaps moreso than other fests. We all pretty much want the same thing. Chemical Bros and shit like that.
They'd be great. I got to watch a recent set by them a few weeks ago, and it was entertaining. But I'm not going to Houston to just see a bunch of Electronic acts solely. The rap and the bands and the musical projects/collaborations (even the EDM ones) along with the art are more the reason I and our people went. That doesn't mean we're not going to catch 5-6 electronic sets (talking DJ or live production sets) over the course of the weekend. But Euro dance, rave, house, techno type EDM doesn't generally appeal to me, and I don't hang with anyone in New Orleans who listens to any of that. No doubt the 15 or so people that will go to D4N that I know will go wouldn't go if that's all it was about. More power to everyone who would want that type of festival. I'd have no hate. But it wouldn't be a festival I'd support if it lacked the musical variety it has kind of become known for. JMO
Ween's slowly adding shows towards December. I'd be really excited for that, they headlined the 3rd (?) FPSF so they have some relationship with the booking.

Damnit, they go and book Pretty Lights last year and now all these smelly ass wooks are asking for shit like Ween, Umphreys, STS9, and Shpongle. This aint Camp Bisco fuckers!

Lmao. Tribe and Umphreys usually have some of the better light shows. I could see Tribe fitting in perfectly, but Umphrey’s, even as one of the best bands of today, is too technical compared to what they usually have. Tipper would probably be better than Shpongle if they were going that route. Ween can probably fit in anywhere. All I’m asking for (for the millionth time) is Sigur Ros. They are a perfect evening act for Day for Night and feature a sonic and visual assault on every tour no matter what they’re playing or whether or not they are touring with an ensemble or just the 3 or them.

They just announced a show 15 minutes from me but I can't get enough Ween. Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club (I know they played in January or something) would get me going in the Godspeed spot. I know this isn't how festivals really work, but a boy can dream.
Yeah, Ween was a quintessentially 90s alternative rock band, before Phish started covering "Roses Are Free", which I'd argue was popularized because of the incredible use of it in the "Bittersweet Motel" documentary:
maybe the best part of the whole doc.
anywho after that jamband kids (including myself) started showing up at Ween shows, and Ween started getting booked at jamband festivals, etc.
While they are beloved by a segment of the jamband community, they are definitely not a jamband.
I don’t really see Ween fitting in but who knows. What size venues do they play these days?
small theaters, two to three thousand seats.
They have a good following here in Detroit but they were here less than a year ago. Pretty small venue for them here but presale just went in about a minute and a half. They are kind of a band that would fit in anywhere and get a small number of people traveling for them. I'm just trying to will this thing into existence.
As stated their social media onslaught didn't begin until Aug last year and they were even less engaged the prior year + the dude in charge or someone under him said it was a go.
