First losing season for VT in my lifetime. In every loss this year, our D has gave up 30+. Yet, our fanbase wants to point to the offense with a QB who was the backup coming into the season as the problem.
Next year is Fuente 4th in Blacksburg. Returning the vast majority of the team, and the 2019 schedule is extremely soft. Make or break year - IMO.
They're no so much better that they're expected to win easily. They're only favored by 6.
I just assume Bama wins, so when it actually does happen I won't feel as disappointed. Bama winning just seems like an inevitability.
I haven't felt like that since the first time we played them for the championship. Earlier this year they looked unbeatable but I think it had a lot to do with who they were playing. Clemson got better as the year went on so I'm pretty confident right now. They may win but I'm expecting a very good game.
It's going to be super depressing when Saban retires, Dabo goes to Tuscaloosa, and we get to watch Bama destroy everyone for another 15 years
Idk how depressing that would be.
I don't think Dabo is going to Bama. Like they said you don't want to be the one following Saban. But also he's building his own thing at Clemson and he does it in a completely different way. There really won't be any reason to leave.

I'm not so sure about that. Sure, I'd say a majority of coaches wouldn't wanna follow someone like Saban and risk being fired in 3 years. But with ties to the school, a proven track record at a power conference, I don't see why Alabama wouldn't slide him a blank check and see how it goes. And with the resources, I think Dabo would have to really consider it.
But Saban's contract doesn't run out until 2025, so we'll see what happens in the next 6 years.

I think Clemson will pay whatever it takes to keep him. They've already built the best facilities for him.
Richt apparently has announced his retirement from coaching. Surprisingly sad about this one.
Reports are Tennessee has offered Yurcich from Oklahoma State at a substantial raise. This would fit in with the idea that there hasn't been much news on that front because they made a choice weeks ago. There is competition though so we're not out of the woods yet.
Thank goodness for this bowl game if it ends up being Yurcich. Not even Vol fans can pitch a fit on Tennessee hiring a guy who has put up this many points on an SEC team
