Yeah no way in hell I'm missing James Blake for anything. No disrespect to AM or Florence but my real headliners are Blake, Paak and The National.
I'll be exploring Old Montreal on Thursday night; probably going to catch the Aura light show inside the Notre Dame Basilica and try to find an upscale dinner spot to make up for all the smoked meat and festival food I'll be eating over the weekend.
I listened to James Blake today for this first time and I guess i don’t get it. Didn’t do anything for me but given his slot I’ll prop peep it
I felt the same way when I was going strictly off of his albums. At the risk of spoiling some of the fun, check out one of his live sets on Youtube. Seems waaaaay more fun than his super slow albums would make you think
Damn, was originally planning on James Blake because i had already seen Travis Scott open for Kendrick a year ago but him playing the day astroworld drops is tempting me. Also very sad about Gang of Youths but it eliminates my conflict with them and Noname
how long should we expect it to take getting there and in between the subway ride and waiting in line, etc?
At the new site, the walk is definitely further from the subway to the actual venue. I'd guess around 7-10 minutes. Plus maybe 10-20 minutes in line, depending on when you show up. So, 20-30 minutes total?
so prob good to get off the subway with about an hour to spare, leave some time for beer, bathroom stop and navigating the grounds. Last non local fest i went to was Hangout and the pat downs were pretty bad and really annoying. Should I expect anything that serious with this security? I dont need random dudes grabbing my junk again.

Hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get security that lightly taps the usual areas, other times you'll get a Paul Blart Super Cop who's very intimate.
Just hang back and try to observe which line to use if you want to avoid serious touching.
Not loving how stingy I was when buying my plane ticket rn
Wut?
Were driving up now....4 hours away. Fuckn tired but if anyone wants to meet at a strio club 11am....hitus up.
It’s just really early Anyway, what is the best (non strip) night club in Montreal? Preferably something college aged people go to that has bright lights

Found a bunch of strip clubs but yeah....we need some good night clubs as well other than Saturday. You en route?

Just landed in Toronto, awaiting my connecting flight
Looks like Two Feet was replaced as expected on Sunday. Replaced by Kallitechnis who it seems is a local Montréal artist. That day is looking pretty light for me until around 5pm given the previous cancellation of Gang of Youths. No complaints though - still loving the lineup overall.
I’ve been in Canada for hours now and nobody has used the phrase “eh”. I’ve also yet to see a maple syrup dispenser. Trip already off to a rough start
It's going to be great when you find out all these stereotypes aren't true!!
Also, nobody, and I mean nobody from Quebec says 'eh'. That's mostly a main lander thing - between Alberta>Ontario. With the odd person from the Maritimes.
I got a ‘ya’ at the end of a sentence which I loved. I can’t ha sleep these French accents, they’re amazing. We’re leaving happy hour now and gonna go back out around 9 downtown. We’ll be at the fest early to tomorrow for Robb Gallo
