As far as the whole D'arcy thing, I wouldn't immediately jump to her side. She has a clear history of mental instability and drug abuse, and the band has already issued a statement saying they asked her multiple times to join the reunion and she just didn't show. Sure, Billy's an asshole, but I wouldn't just assume he didn't let her back in the band.
Also the countdown isn't just to announce they're back together....it's for the release of their first single together in 18 years, plus probably announcing the Siamese Dream 25th Anniversary tour.

I mean, reading those texts just confirm everything the Pumpkins said about her. They asked her to join in on the reunion, she kept saying yes but then just never showed her face. He even says in one text that no one has seen her face to face in 19 years. Its also clear that she was asked to join in the studio for the writing process and she declined. Billy's sending these long texts saying look, we got this huge tour coming up and no one in the band has heard you play the bass in 20 years....we need to start rehearsals soon, are you gonna show? And she just responds with "ok."

Man that would be rough not playing bass for so long then jumping into a highly anticipated reunion tour. Maybe she just doesn't have the chops anymore?
Yeah I'm not sure how those texts make Billy look bad. When it comes to ANY planning, especially that magnitude, you can't bank anything less than 100% or your fucked (as he describes).
Couldn't believe that when I saw it. I can't go to that UC show either, I have way too much going on in August. Riot would have been perfect. I'm pretty stumped on options for them now. Maybe The Cure or The National make a return? Other than those 2 acts and maybe Tool?
Tool will most likely be there. I am EXTREMELY saddened that the pumpkins will not be, though.
I won't allow this to enter my head since last time they were rumored it fell through. Need me some Tool this year if possible, though, and I can't really do any additional fests/shows outside of Chicago.

Its clear Billy wanted her to come on stage for a couple songs and that would be it. She misunderstood him, which just proves that maybe things like this should be discussed instead of over texts.

they made an announcement that they have a temporary replacement for Iha on this tour awhile back. Also while all of the acts seem likely your lineup doesn't pack the punch the past couple lineups have had. I hope it isn't that bland.
that would be cool. But I'd say insert Beck or Blink in as second and you got a more accurate idea. Hopefully Beck. I'd prefer APC to tool personally but I know most wouldn't. Also hoping they can snag that Bauhaus reunion but I'm not sure they can.
