That Jerry Lee Lewis booking is sick. Dude’s probably older than a lot of these bands are combined.
This is unbelievable to me. He was to Beale Street Music Festival what Andrew WK and GWAR are to Riot Fest - played every year. Up to 2014, I assume due to bad health. Heck, he had to cancel his 2012 set because of health issues (they got Little Richard as replacement, which was great and weird at the same time). NOLA Jazz Fest got him in 2015 and he never came back to play Memphis.
And after doing research on setlist.fm, I see he played 15+ shows since then, in the last 3 years. Two shows so far in 2018. Unless that guy has gotten stem cell research to get more youthful, don't expect too much from him. Last I saw him in 2013, his band/wife/daughter carry most of the load, and he gets assisted out to the piano and he'll mumble through most of the hits. Still impressive that The Killer is still kicking and definitely worth catching to cross off the musical bucket list.

Are these all the same person? Isn’t he known for incest/pedophilia?

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Blink just bum me out as the number one. I do Love Beck and may get a Day pass for his day. Can I trade Incubus and Young the Giant for YYYs. Out of everybody rumored them not playing bums me out the most.
It’s a solid lineup, but overall a bit of a step down compared to most other years. Definitely will at least go whatever day Beck plays and possibly all three days if I can find a cheap three day pass.
Any1 got some scoops on who this 3rd headliner could be? Haven't seen shit, and with the whole no Maynard in September theory, it sounds like Tool/APC are probably not the missing name.

Saw that update. Pretty solid. I can only go Sunday so I'm still waiting on the daily anyway. I don't get what the hold up is on the 2nd wave. At this point it feels like someone definitely fell through. The fest is less than 2 months away and they're missing a 3rd headliner.

I would also imagine Travis Barker's health issues making things difficult
Bad Religion - Suffer (30th Anniversary) Cypress Hill - Black Sunday (25th Anniversary) Digable Planets - Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space) (25th Anniversary) Fear - The Record Lagwagon - Let’s Talk About Feelings (20th Anniversary) Spitalfield - Remember Right Now (15th Anniversary) Suicidal Tendencies - Suicidal Tendencies (35th Anniversary)
Was hoping for Turn on the Bright Lights, Exile in Guyville, and All Killer No Filler, but these are pretty solid too.
The amount of bozos on Twitter coming to the fest's defense when I ask about the 3rd headliner is stunning to me. I enjoy riot feat. I've been to it 4 times. If you can't see that they fucked up and don't have a 3rd headliner announced 6 weeks before the fest, you're a complete moron. That's not normal. When u drop prices to $99 I guess it doesn't matter much, but I wouldn't buy a 3 day if I didn't know all 3 headliners. I'm trying to just go Sunday so hopefully the daily/2nd wave drop together.
FWIW, Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! announced a new band with a mini-tour this fall.
The band has a Chicago date, but she's said Riot Fest is her favorite festival and lives in Chicago, so I could see potentially debuting the new band at Riot as a late add in a final wave with the last headliner.

And that's the thing. No one should be in denial that something weird is going on with the lineup, whether it be the 3rd headliner, or maybe trying to bump someone up to 3rd headliner status and then book someone else, whatever.
But the $99 ticket deal was appealing because it's almost an admission that, "Hey, this one thing happened early on that fudged up your experience, and quite frankly we probably have another thing that's going to fudge it up now, so here's a ticket for cheap." Would I like to be proven wrong? Sure. Am I mad if I got a $99 ticket with only 2 "true" headliners? Not at all.
Not saying you're in disagreement with that logic, or anything, but just explaining why I didn't care to pay it either way.
Prediction: Riot Fest is just waiting on Grandoozy to call it quits so they can snatch up Kendrick, Phoenix, and War on Drugs along with a handful of other punk/metal bands. Ya heard it here first babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Is Travis Barker even cleared to play shows yet? If not, it looks like they are losing their 1st and 4th billed acts. Lack of communication is kind of their thing and I'm sure they are scrambling.
