I definitely want to try curling at some point. Seems like a more interesting version of bowling, a game where you can just sorta drink and waste time.
It's starting to get pretty popular here. There is an outdoor area downtown in Buffalo that always seems to have games going on. My wife's uncle is in a league, too.

You can do it here in Houston at ice-skating rinks. It seems crazy, but it's there.

Ditto
Apparently there's a couple curling clubs in a 45 minute radius too
I got hockey which sounds about right. Although I want to know which amusement park ride the author thinks is scarier. The way the question is presented it would appear they think teacups are the easiest to handle. Bumper cars move slow and are built to absorb shock while tea cups scramble your insides. Weird question.
What do y'all think about the Korea unification thing going on at this thing? Seems pretty fucked up to me. Are we just pretending to not know about all the shitty things North Korea is still doing in their country?

It's debatable that the athletes that compete for NK subscribe to everything their country describes. I'd like to assume they don't, but I feel pretty doubtful we'd get any of the athletes to come out and say "fuck KJU" out of fear of retribution, so who really knows how they feel. But if the SK athletes are fine with it, and they all get along and it's not a big deal to them, I'm fine with it. It does paint NK in probably a better light than they deserve, but it's good for the competitors imo.
I did love hearing announcers ragging on Russia for having empty team/press boxes, it's really incredible that they got froze out.

The N/S divide isn't really that old so that many people who live in S. Korea have friends or family that live or are stuck in N.Korea.

I'm not trying to say the NK athletes are at fault in anyway. It's honestly always surprised me that North Korea is even allowed to compete in the olympics. Also I'm pretty sure most South Koreans don't even want unification with North Korea in general. New generations don't have real family ties between the two.

That's just what my tour guide in Incheon said.
I mean I think it's true, just a generational thing.
