Just because Sufjan is the singer doesn't make Planetarium his project. Each member is an equal part of it.
right but Matt, Aaron, and the Devendorfs aren't part of it.
one could argue that Dan taking Dead & Co. gives him rights to Bob Weir, who's last solo tour was backed by, and the album recorded with, the Dessners.
But what if in a few years, you wanna pick 'Kanye and Jay Z perform Watch The Throne 5 year anniversary', is that the same thing? You can basically get the both of them, just by picking that 'act' whilst they're not really a band or an act on their own. It's just a collaborative album of 2 artists, just like Planetarium (but of 4).

Watch The Throne has not played a show in the eligible time frame.
Pretty clear that the pick should stand. We agreed on the rules before we started playing and I think we should stick to them. Good pick tЯist♡n because you’re gonna be able to save some good acts for your free agents.

Justin Vernon already basically confirmed Planetarium is playing his festival this year. Y'all can keep bitching
Yet, Bryce Dessner is also touring with The National this summer, just like last year.
Though we're just nitpicking because we never thought about drafting such act. It's clever and part of the game but I think there should be a ruling of how much 'extra' kind of acts you can add (see the Gorillaz/Damon Albarn/Blur, Radiohead/Thom Yorke or The xx/Jamie xx etc etc discussion). I also think it's possible that the three of them (Sufjan / The National / Planetarium) can play at one festival, but we're talking about a fantasy line up based on Bonnaroo which is not a niche festival like Eaux Claires or D4N where I'd see that happen.

Kanye and Jay Z have both performed in the last 3 years and they're bringing their record from front to back for a special anniversairy performance, what is not eligeable about that? 'Watch The Throne' is not a band, it's a record. Just like Planetarium?
yeah i don't have any issue with planetarium being available, i don't have any issue with sufjan being off limits, i do think if a guitarist has a side project then that whole band becomes off limits is a little much.
like if i picked the voidz, i get the strokes, do i also get Albert Hammond solo? or does that only work if I take Strokes and get Voidz/AHJr?
If you get the Voidz, you get the Strokes but not Albert. If you get the Strokes you can get them all
Whoever drafts The Strokes will incur a significant penalty from me come voting time.
i just want to be clear, by the unwritten rule regarding degrees of separation, that danbob has exclusive rights to Bob Weir with the Dessners, and it does not effect in any way that Bryce can be drafted with another band (Planetarium) and the person who drafted that gets The National exclusive?
dan you should've drafted Bob and the Dessners dummy LOOK AT ALL THAT SIDE PROJECT, instead you get Mayer.

because they haven't performed Watch The Throne together in the last three years.

The dude from Portishead is also touring with Radiohead but he's not an actual Radiohead member. That's the difference imo.

No. That's wrong. He has exclusive rights to Weir only in this scenario.

why? Weir and Dessners recorded an album together and toured it. There's noting in the rules about degrees of separation. What everyone seems to be set on is you get a degree of separation, Planent > Sufjan/National, but not two degrees Plant > Sufjan/National > El Vy.

and what your saying is that he should have drafted Weir and Dessner to secure D&C and the National, but would have lost out on Mayer.
