Anyone else I should be checking out for Wk 1?
Golden Dawn Arkestra will be one of the most fun shows of the weekend, Sweet Spirit is a local favorite, Sailor Poon is a good riot grrrl punk rock band.
Ill say Austin has a great collection of artists that frequent the low, low cards. Golden Dawn was my favorite act of the final FFF. I was hoping Ghostland would appear on this with a new album dropping.
Gonna reach out to some people. I have some friends in Austin I can probably stay with, which would help a ton.
Huge list of names I'd wanna see. Depends how the rest of the year shakes out with shows
Paul McCartney, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, The National, David Byrne, Justice, St. Vincent, Sylvan Esso, Father John Misty, Brandi Carlile, Brockhampton, Janelle Monáe, Blood Orange, Jungle, SHARON VAN ETTEN, Khruangbin, Parquet Courts, Noname, Alvvays, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Ravyn Lenae, Japanese Breakfast, Bahamas, Big Thief, Durand Jones, Amen Dunes, Curtis Harding, Ikebe Shakedown, Natalie Prass, Shame, Lemaitre, The Weather Station, Phil Cook, The Texas Gentlemen
Good recommend with Golden Dawn Arkestra. Loving this. Thanks sir!
I'm surprised how popular they're getting here. They went from free shows to being a closer for levitation club shows pretty swiftly. They're good though, I've some how managed to not see them despite all the free shows.
For a collective that big, they've kept it cohesive and strong. The live shows are pure energy and entertainment and they rock out. I think they've toured Europe pretty successfully.

You’d think with Macca and Metallica headlining this would sell out fairly quick, but in a world where Post Malone is a headliner I just don’t know anymore. They do have payment plans for anyone not looking to pay everything up front and booking through Hostel World only about one day is due up front.
I wanna do this so bad but theres no way I can swing it. Between the flights, tickets, and hotel for 2 it's too much. Plus I know there r some football game tickets im gonna be purchasing in the next couple months. Really sucks cus if there was any yr to make the trek this would be it.
Red Bull will likely be streaming it again, so you'll probably be able to catch many of the sets anyway.
What's this festival like? I've always assumed it would be similar to Lollapalooza, which I didn't enjoy too much. I thought it was too big, too crowded, and ended too early.
Smaller, but don't underestimate the power and size, as the title is hinting, of CHAIR ZONEs.
Oh, they will be out in the fullest fucking force for Paul McCartney. It'll be like RETURN OF THE fuckin' KING on that field.

I caught G.D.A. last year at Fortress Fest and you ain't lying. I would never regret trying to catch those guys. They are what a live show should be.

This lineup is insane for only $255+ fees.. I mean, I live in Delaware but this is a lineup worth the trip, plus it works out with my schedule since I work a seasonal beach job. This is actually making me consider my first destination fest since Bonnaroo '10.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb

It’s pretty easy to spend $150 on a Macca ticket by itself and he’s someone that’s only going to tour a handful of years more. This fest actually saved me a bit of money because it combines the best parts of LiB, Osheaga, Panorama and Boston Calling for me.
Are the chairs really that bad? Also, what is the curfew?
They can be annoying but in reality, they're not that bad. Essentially they're designated behind a certain distance away from the mainstages and maybe one or two side stages?. Think the "lawn" section of an amphitheater VS the pit. Along with that are the people that create little blanket picnic areas.

Curfew is a hard 10:00pm.
So hard of a curfew. They will turn that shit off on an artist.
I remember Pearl Jam playing past it, and apologizing to the neighbors. Cue Teenage Wasteland.
And the chair army line is roughest when the crowd is backed all the way to it - that's bad enough. Willie Nelson's crowd was one of the most jammed I ever seen.
