Lol I feel like this is the only lineup that I’ve seen get pretty much universal acclaim upon release. This and Shaky Knees, but this is obviously appealing to a much larger audience as a major fest.

Deftones on weekend 1 kills me, but Rhye and Marian Hill on weekend 2 are looking prime to me and help. I have been digging both (Rhye most recently) hard lately.

Think I'm passed the point of needing to see Deftones. I have had good and experiences with their show though.

seeing them recently playing pretty much the exact set I want make me ok to miss, Shame honestly a harder pill to swallow but hopefully they hit up Houston around the fest.
What are the odds of being able to see Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, and the National? Are two of those nearly guaranteed to conflict?
most likely, but it's not impossible. you would 100% miss Paul and Metallica to see at least two of those.
That's kinda what I figured. I can live with that; I've seen Paul twice and I have no interest in Metallica. Gambino I'll probably never catch otherwise.

I have had bad Deftones shows in the late 90s, but Chino has made it up to me several times in the last few years. I can go on without seeing them at this time and I am not secretly hoping that he sounds like shit since I will be missing. I swear. LOL
That looks like a solid option as well. Firehouse just seems a bit closer to downtown, which I suppose doesn’t make much of a difference being at the fest the majority of the time.
last year they had xx slotted at 7 and it looked like Garrix would HL opposite Jay, but they ended up with xx at that spot. so i'd say it's pretty fluid outside of Metallica and Paul clearly not conflicting.

keep in mind, the fest ends pretty early, and a lot of the Late Night shows are in town, with a couple being east/south.

I went with that one because it wasnt far from Zilker Park and it was no money down free cancellation. Figure I can just Uber the whole time.
highly unlikely, though that would be perfect. The only act out of the Top 6 who might not close a main stage would be Odesza. Last year, Martin Garrix was placed 6th and closed out a secondary stage while The XX (7th) closed out a main stage.
