(though I wouldn't sleep on the Rams after a hell of an offseason)
I'm so pumped for this next season. I'm not ready to go all in on our chances to win it all in 2018, especially considering how difficult our schedule is going to be, but I think we have a great shot at repeating as South champs and possibly getting a first round bye.
I think Minnesota is going to be tough next season, and Philly might take a slight step back if for no other reason than the complacency after winning the SB. The Rams are the team I'm the most afraid of to win the NFC. They have made a lot of splashy moves this offseason.
Welp peace out Dez Bryant. Seems to have been some division in the locker room.. "Garrett guys" possibly include Dak, Witt, idk. It's a mess. Dez wants to sign with a rival. I bet he goes to the Giants to play along with Odell, Eli, and Saquon Barkley. Ugly.
On an odd coincidental note: Arguably the best players of this era in the Cowboys history, Dez, Romo, and Ware all played their final games in Cowboy uniforms at Philadelphia. As did Irvin, but i chose not to include him in that sentence since he was a different era.

I am so happy with the Jags unis compared to the trash we were wearing for the last 5 years.
The schedule release was also last night. Can't say I'm too surprised that we got only one Sunday Night game and one Thursday night game. The league will continue to fuck us until we prove it on the field for a few years in a row. And the 49ers get 5 prime time games since they got a QB that is probably good. I mean we play the Patriots this year. A rematch of the AFC championship is only worth a 4:25 slot? And then from a business standpoint it is terrible for us in a few more ways that I won't get into the boring details of.

I was a bit surprised Jags/Pats didn't get primetime either. Should be a good game.
The Saints have five prime time matches this season, which makes a lot of sense seeing as how they have the second toughest schedule. I love that we get a soft start to the season and have some seriously tough games in the middle and end.
Highlights for me:
Week 8 - rematch at Minnesota Sunday night football Week 9 - home vs the Rams in the afternoon Week 11 - home vs the Eagles Week 12 - Thanksgiving night at home vs the Falcons Week 13 - Thurs night in Jerry's World Week 15 - MNF at Carolina

Bummed we didn't get vikings to open the season. I really wanted to have them be there when we raised the banner after stomping them and then winning the SB in their building.
as for NFC east predictions. I don't see the Giants being as bad as they were this year, maybe int he 6-8 win ballpark. I also see the skins and cowboys as struggling to get to .500. I think 10-12 wins is a good estimate for the Eagles this year.

I just can't believe that a bunch of NFL teams are going gaga over Josh Allen. He's big, he's strong, he's got a cannon. He also was extremely inaccurate in college and didn't light up his level of competition. I believe the guys over at NumberFire say that accuracy is the #1 thing that translates from college to the NFL - if you aren't accurate, you aren't accurate. I've got my own questions about Rosen, but the fact that he has definitively fallen behind Allen is crazy to me. If I were a GM, I'd feel OK selecting four of the five QBs in this first round, just not Allen.
And Barkley at 2 is crazy, as well.
I could totally coach for the NFL, it isn't that hard!

for whatever reason, people go crazy for arm strength, when in reality, a qb might need to throw the ball 65 yards once every few games. It's all about timing, accuracy, and being able to read and react to defenses. If I were a GM, I'd be doing everything I can to go get Baker.

I love Baker as well.
As a sort of counterpoint to my own comment, listening to the Simmons podcast he talked about how Mayfield, in the CFP semifinal vs. Georgia, needed to make plays on the final drive and, to him, it looked like Mayfield could only throw a few routes. That could be problematic, but a good offensive coordinator I think can overcome that.
Allen's arm strength means he can zip it on those deep outs. I guess they don't care if he throws it over the sideline, as long as he does it quickly!
Hoping the Bills come away with one. I'm fine with them giving up a sizable haul for Darnold, Mayfield (my personal favorite) or Rosen. I'd they stay at twelve and take Allen or Jackson, fine. Rudolph at twenty-two, sure. White or Luletta at fifty-three, why not?

Mayfield Darnold Rosen Jackson Allen Rudolph
Final answer.
there's so much uncertainty in this draft, Thursday is gonna be fun

I know. A lot of years I've looked forward to the draft more than the regular season. I'm super bummed I'm going to miss most of the first round. I even won tickets to the Bills' draft party.

Anyone here know of a good TE prospect in this draft? Looks like Witten is retiring and taking Gruden’s spot on MNF.
There are several. It won't matter though. Phallus will finish on the outside looking in. FWIW, many people on this forum were born in the last 25 years. I wonder what the Saints vs. Dallas record was in that era?

I look forward to that Boys-Saints prime time matchup this year, tho you guys should be really good this year and had one of the better drafts of recent memory in ‘17. I still remember my favorite Dallas win against a really good Saints team. I thought Demarcus Ware was paralyzed and he left only to return to get the game clenching sack.

1999 - Saints 31-24
2003 - Saints 13-07
2004 - Saints 27-13
2006 - Saints 42-17
2009 - Dallas 24-17
2010 - Saints 30-27
2012 - Saints 34-31

Just don't talk shit on Witten, k?
The man is possibly the greatest tight end to ever play the game. He's a surefire hall-of-famer. Do not sully his legacy with facts about the trash heap that was the late-nineties to late-2000s Cowboys.
