I haven't found that big a difference between the 600s and the club level here tbh.
Idk with the Texans there's a franchise lack of identity outside of our made up rivalry with Dallas and hating the Titans which probably has something to do with the environment not being super welcoming.
For what its worth, went to cowboys panthers in Dallas in 2015 and panthers cowboys in Carolina this season and the experience is what you make of it. If you buy 500-level tickets, you're gonna get a beer poured on you and likely hear and see some shit you wouldn't if you spend a little extra to buy your way into a less shitty crowd. That, or save a fuck ton of money and stay home. Either way, games and the crowds that attend them are substantially more tame than they were in the 90s.
As someone who attended a Panthers game in LA a couple years ago I'm gonna have to disagree lol. It was a complete shitshow, very hostile.
The games I've attended in Charlotte were definitely more tame than any games that I've been to in SD or LA, though. Maybe Panthers fans are just more chill?
The two best games I've been to have been a 6-3 Jags win over Houston where our friend was running the St. Arnold's tailgate and the game that Andre beat the hell out of Courtland. Every other time has been forgettable or memorable for the wrong reasons.
*This could also be read as I don't have fun at Texans games without Pablo.

I've always had a good time (four games in ATL, one in Arizona, one in Jacksonville). In Atlanta, I'm usually in some VIP section which means less wasted people and I can just take the MARTA. Arizona was fun and I stayed right across the street and Jacksonville was solid just way too humid (in November).

Maddog and I went to that Courtland Finnegan game with another guy who got too drunk at the tailgate and fell asleep during the game. I woke him up to tell him he had chili on his face and he told me to fuck off. So we just started taking pictures of him. He's in the Navy now.

Obviously hard disagree with everyone in here right now. Yes - it sucks if your team sucks and it is expensive. But if you are at a great game that means something, it is an awesome experience. Seeing our city rally and come together for the first time in 20 years to pack out the stadium last year gives me chills thinking about it.
Of course, we dont have to worry about the view of the field because we have the best videoboards in the world.
The moment when Jalen amazingly picked off the Bills to win the playoff game last year in the stadium is just simply not the same in a bar or at home.
Even when I was at the AFC Championship game I could sense and acknowledge the amazing experience that Pats fans enjoyed at the game that night.
Even now that we are bad again, I still enjoy being at the games, but that isnt fair because Im not paying and Im doing cool things throughout the game on the sidelines and in suites and whatnot. I concede that paying to go to a Titans Jags game in Tenn may not be worth it. Before I had this job, I thought that one game per year was the right way to do it. Nosebleeds are totally fine - you can actually see better, or you can just buy nosebleeds and walk down to a GA area. We have great party zones throughout the stadium, the best videoboards, great weather and the lowest ticket prices in the league. So I may not understand the experience of those in bigger markets with shittier owners that dont invest heavily in the fan experience.
there's just no good reason to go to an NFL game. everyone is just shit canned and awful, not nearly as good of a view as basketball, not nearly as chillable as baseball, way too expensive, parking is a nightmare.
Work is doing a night at the Titans-Jaguars game in December. People keep trying to get me hype to go, but I'm just not. In addition to what you mentioned, that game is on the trajectory to be unwatchable.
Re: Cooper, I think this trade is definitely better for the Raiders than the Mack trade. Cooper is good but he's a bit of an injury risk. It's just leaving a lot of the Raiders future in the air based off how those draft picks work out. I would expect that they're working on trading one of the three picks to get a more established player.
You're awful and you don't deserve the ticket. I don't care about either team but that game will likely have playoff implications. I went to a TN/Jax game in Jax and it was awesome.
Re Cooper, you're exactly right. Three first rounders are awesome. Even if Mack makes up for three more wins thus far, they'd only have four wins. Max contracts cripple organizations. It's proven over and over again. Best way to win in New NFL is before your superstars get that second contract. Everyone's window will shrink. The Patriots get deals on older guys constantly and let go of guys who want/deserve big money.
Its hard to guess, but I think I’ve been to over 70 NFL games. I’ve never had an issue though I’ve seen some belligerent people over the years. I remeber 1974’s Sugar Bowl when I was little where this loud Nebraska fan got headlocked by a mad Florida fan and got arrested or escorted out. The Florida fan couldn’t take anymore as they were losing. He was clean cut but the Nebraska guy looked like a midwestern hippie.
Speaking of shitty fans, what’s up Falcons? Why was the stadium half empty for a Monday night game that was a must win if you had any hopes of salvaging your season? What a sorry fucking fan base.
Trading a 1st rounder for Amari Cooper (still just 24, with 2 pro bowls) sets us up with Amari, Beasley, and Gallup for the next 15 months. That's solid. It's also make or break for Dak. If he cant get those guys the ball then he aint it chief.

Even more than Dak, I think it's make or break with Garrett. He's come close several times, and Jones ain't the Rooneys.
saw ELI APPLE TRADED TO SAINTS and my mind immediately went to Manning supplanting Brees and taking the mantle of "Most New Orleans Manning" from his father.

There is already a meme with OBJ. "We're trading Eli..." Happy Face "...Apple" Sad Face
Agreed. Pretty much everyone I know wanted him back home. When I saw we traded for Eli, I figured we'd be sending Bridgewater somewhere for a CB, but once I realized it's Apple, that went out the window. He's got some decent potential though. We're thin as shit at CB right now, and we need a decent CB or two to add to the secondary. We'll take this for a 4th next year and a 7th in 2020. Not sure how many more moves the Giants are going to make, but this is definitely a house cleaning issue.
the giants fans im seeing online seem to think it's kind of a bad trade for them. not a lot of value coming back. i mean, they're 1-6, but idk that trading a 23 yr old CB you spent a 1st on for a 4th/future 7th is how you get better.

There were some issues last year with the old regime, so maybe some bad blood spilled over into this one. At least he's moving from a mysteriously terrible team to a Super Bowl Contender [tm] (c).

I mean the Patriots have cut their 2nd round pick from 2016 on two separate occasions this season. What you paid doesn't matter, it's what the guy is worth.

Whens the last time the Pats were 1-6 though?
They should probably have more patience, they're not in a position where their Hall of Fame QB only has so much window to keep winning SB's, that ship has sailed.
imo the best defenses are the ones that remain mostly intact for a solid amount of time when guys can start to really communicate and cover for each others weaknesses.

Yah, but great teams also miss on draft picks. Maybe they feel like they missed on Apple. Looks like PFF has him ranked as the #55 CB so that's basically a #2.

Apple also had that beef with Collins earlier in the year. They may have felt that they needed to pick one over the other especially with their locker room getting heated recently due to their struggles.

That was last season, right? I think they patched **** up by camp.

It's the end of last season. In April, he said they'd buried the hatchet. Losing a bunch of games can bring out the worst in people. They could be totally fine though. I don't know. Just thinking of reasons why they might have wanted to send him out of town for the deal they made.

As somebody who has been to multiple ACC & SEC stadiums for games, and multiple NFL stadium for games - the environments in my experience have been similar except for one key factor. Being able to buy alcohol at NFL games. A huge percentage of both college and pro fans are tailgating long before kickoff and entering the stadium boozed up. Building on top of the tailgate drunkness can make things hairy.
Dave Maynar - I'm with you on Titans/Jags being a snoozefest of a game, but that's a pretty sweet work outing/event.

I saw that name and immediately hoped that somehow he will marry Gwyneth Paltrow and the Coldplay guy's daughter Apple (so her name could possibly be Apple Apple).

Why did MNF only deem the synagogue shooting worthy of a moment of silence and not the other two hate crimes directly associated with Trump supporters? This is why the NFL using the anthem for political statements is useless and biased and worthy of protest.
Vikings WR Adam Thielen (who i happen to have on my fantasy team) tonight became the first player to catch over 100 yards in the first 8 games of the season. The last and only WR to win Offensive Player of the Year Award was obviously Jerry Rice in '87 & '93. Should Thielen win it this year?
