Shitty game by the Saints backups today. But Michael Thomas sets our all time receiving yardage in a season record with 1,405 yards and also shatters his previous team record with 125 catches in the season which is 5th most all time in the NFL (passing the man, Herman Moore). Thomas also has the most receptions all time in his first 3 seasons destroying the record formerly jointly held by Beckham and Landry (14-15-16).
Looking forward to the afternoon games for sure. As to the Jags, I disagree gc and love Coach Marrone. Jags have taken chances on the wrong quarterbacks for years. They need to go in a different direction there, and it would be a shame if they botch shit next year by sticking with Bortles imho
Jags just announced Marrone will be back in 2019. I was questioning Wash coming back as DC. Maddogmattis was calling for Barrone replacement. No offence taken being misquoted but save the fake news for the politics thread 😉
Its going to be fun trying to spin this team and the decision to keep Caldwell AND Marrone to sponsors this offseason. But hey, at least Im not in Ticket Sales.
As for the Bears and Jags defenses, obviously I wasn't ready for an 8 loss streak after being up on the Pats in the AFC Championship game and starting 3-1. This team fucking blows. Malik Jackson, Telvin Smith, AJ Bouye, Barry Church, Myles Jack, T Gipson all regressed mightily this year. Losing Posluzney and Aaron Colvin apparantly mattered, and the overall discipline of the entire team was a joke all season. I'd have to look at numbers from Bears this year vs Jags last year to see which was better. I havent personally heard people begin to wonder if this Bears D could be one of the beat Ds ever, but I havent been paying attention enough. But obviously last year doesnt matter and this team is garbage.
Either way, I wish we didnt win last week. We need a quarterback, running back, wrs and offensive lineman. There is literally no good players on our offense. Dede Westbrook could be a league average 2nd wr moving forward. Brandon Linder was a great guard that we stupidly moved to center 3 years ago.
This was the worst season in Jaguars history given expectations coming in. When you work for a sports team, that makes life significantly worse than it could be, but I still work for a sports team and thats pretty cool so fuggit. Im just happy to be done with this shit show of a season.
Oof I didn't realize Mahomes is this close to 50 TDS. He's probably already got MVP but if ue hits it that app but locks it.
It’s been done before. I wouldn’t grudge him the MVP, but Brees has done two things that have never been done before - best completion percentage ever and best QBR ever though Mahomes could conceivably catch him on QBR. What I want to know is wtf is up with the Steelers? Act like you want to be in the postseason. They’re down at half to the fn Bengals. Regardless of whether the Ravens end up beating Cleveland, you had to win to have a chance to get in. Cleveland got jobbed on the goal line fumble recovery that should have been a 99 yard TD. But it’s understandable they blew the whistle.

I want Brees to win but I dont think a qb with less than 4000 yards will ever win MVP again.

If you ain’t gonna win the super bowl, might as well get the first pick 😎. As far as I’m concerned, the Cardinals are gonna finish in second place this season.

He’s never won despite dominating stats for his entire career here. He was on a record string of 12 straight 4K seasons (including 4 5k seasons) and did what was best for the team sitting with 8 yards to go. I think he will win it, or should, but again I’m not going to beef if Mahomes gets it.
Even with a loss I’m filled with so much hope for my Browns. Baker will continue to develop, hopefully we make some good offseason WR and K moves, and hopefully we grab a competent head coach. Don’t think it’s unrealistic to say Browns are fighting for a playoff spot next year.

I loved him when he was here :bounty: but what do you think about Williams staying on? He gets his players going kamikaze on motherfuckers. I always admired that side of him.
Also the Sunday night game couldn’t have worked out much better for the NFL.

I’m pretty meh on him staying as the head coach. Admittedly I’m not very knowledgeable on systems/schemes but the general consensus among fans is that he makes some questionable decisions.
He does. And he’s a loose cannon. But the team played for him. He went 5-3, and I think you Browns fans would initially be happy with a coach who can deliver a .625 winning percentage. Considering that either TD not awarded could have been 6-2, IDK. I’d probably be okay with him.
I think that Cleveland can do better than Greg Williams.
Legit point and you guys had him in Buffalo so you may be a bit biased. But if you look back on the last 5 winning seasons in Cleveland (noting the Modell gap from 96-98), you have 2007, 2002, 1994, 1988 and 1987. So it seems like they could do a lot worse too.

I didn't mean so much that he hasn't been successful for Cleveland but that the job is arguably the most attractive in the NFL this offseason. They can get the best coach available. In fact, at least one or two have indicated that they'd only coach for Cleveland this season.
FWIW, I met Williams in '15 and he was a nice guy. He had nice things to say about Rochester, where I was working at the time and where the Bills do training camp. I don't remember a ton about his coaching tenure here, to be honest.
For sure. He’ll always be tied into bountygate here, but we won a Super Bowl with him as DC. So I can’t hate too much.
Meant to post this in this thread:

I was an intern with the Bills in the scouting department when Gregg was head coach (year 2 - 2002 season). He was a disaster. I know I've posted a story before but I didn't find him to be very well prepared for being a head coach.

Maybe time has been good for him.
I've heard tales of his arrogance, though nothing to match those that accompanied Marrone.
