The Raiders have hired NFL Network draft analysts Mike Mayock as GM. We’ll see how he handles the early first rounder and the two lates they got from trades with the Bears and Cowboys. I don’t foresee this Gruden era ending well. I’m sure he’d like to stock up on Gruden Grinder type players. He never built a team with young talent in his past coaching tenures. His Raiders were loaded with veteran free agents and he stepped into the lead of a Buccaneers team that Dungy had already helped load with talent.
When are Raiders going to name Tony Romo starting qb?
They couldn't lure him out of the booth. Fitzpatrick seems to fit the mold of veteran QB's Gruden has been able to get along with, like Rich Gannon and Brad Johnson.

Fitz is gonna end up having started for every team in the league before he retires.
If I were the Steelers, I'd consider Marv Lewis as DC after firing Butler.
Can’t see Marv taking a coordinator role at this point. Would be a very savvy move by the Steelers if they could pull it off - just can’t see Marv doing that though.
He already has a house in Phoenix. My guess is he will try for the Cardinals gig.
Looks like Coughlin really is pissed with Fournette.
Jesus Christ. I don't know the full story here, but that seems so ridiculously petty on Coughlin. What a piece of shit. That's an insane amount of money to take away from a man for spending a game pouting on the bench. That's like murder money.
Vance Joseph and Steve Wilks are out in Denver and Arizona.

Mayock is my favorite NFL analyst. I don't know how he'll fair as GM of the Raiders, but he has become a very knowledgeable personnel guy. I like the move despite whatever inherent risks there might be.

I disagree 100%. Fuck Fournette. He was given the world and has been a bitch.

7 MILLION DOLLARS, though. I'll probably never see that much money in my life and one man decided he'd take that away from another man. Coughlin might want to look over his shoulder for a few years.

Side note: esteban Is that you shooting those fireworks at 11 am hahaha
Unfortunately not. I'm at work today  til early afternoon. I'm going to be heading back to the hood for a nap after that and then going eat some chicken piccata then going to the Pelicans vs. T-Wolves game. I'll probably end up in Metairie tonight blowing up the overpriced shit I bought in Slidell on Saturday.
We'll be downtown, but I'm going to probably end up missing all 4 major fireworks displays tonight. They have one in the East around 8:30, then one near NOMA, then one on the river uptown, and finally the dueling barges at midnight.
Btw, Coughlin is as leather-helmet as it gets. But he's not going to tolerate bullshit from players. And I don't think he should. Fournette could have been elite. But what a lot of people were saying about him coming out of LSU - being somewhat injury prone because of the hits he dishes out and takes on run after run - has sort of proven true in his short pro career. He's spent way too much time on the pines. If you're going to be hurt, you should probably be supporting your teammates and replacements rather than sulking and whining. I don't know what else he did, but apparently Yeldon got called out for his behavior too.

they had to watch a shit rb get play time behind a shit line under a shit coach.
the jags pretty much made it known very early in the season they didn't want to play him, so what he's supposed to be cheering them on while they're losing the last game of the year?
It's a team game which means it's not all about him. You're generally not supposed to be all out in public with your b.s. and gripes. It's not going to endear him to anyone else in the league though obviously there are plenty of teams who would take a chance on him. I'd love him on the Saints alternating with Kamara if we lose Ingram. Plus there's no telling what he's pulling behind the scenes.
Speaking of Ingram, who is absolutely not a malcontent, he will probably be available after this season. I don't know how we can tie up the money we would need to re-sign him. And he's not damaged goods whatsoever. In Sean Payton's offense, running backs rarely get more than 20 individual carries in a game. He likes having multiple (generally 2 or 3) options and personnel packages as concerns running back. Even at 29, I don't think he's got much wear and tear on him at all. He's probably playing his best ball at this point though he only had 133 rushes (missed those few early games due to the suspension) and 19 receptions this year. I think he's got a shot to get paid on a fairly big dollar contract with a team who wants to sign him. I'm thinking like a 4 year 30MM type deal which could even be a decent value.

right, but im saying the team did that to him first.
That's as far as we know. He got benched last year for team rules issues early in the second half of the season. I don't know what else there is, because I'm not on the inside there. I hear what you're saying, and it almost seems like (assuming you're right about the bolded part and they haven't dealt with multiple issues behind the scenes) they're sending him a very public message. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I happen to like Coughlin though I realize he's authoritarian (and a leather helmet as I said earlier). Yeldon is all but gone from Jacksonville, and maybe it's Coughlin's way to assert authority and try to reign in Fournette?

I'll be pulling for the Cowboys, Saints after that, then probably Texans and Chiefs. I think it's possible and I wouldn't be upset at all if Rivers finally got a ring. I would love to see a Brady vs Rivers duel this post-season.
also per the article it seems like theyre only allowed to do this because he came off the bench to defend his team during a scrum. coughlin sucks.
That's putting it pretty dramatically. He ran across the field because he thought a guy was gonna swing on a teammate of his. He hadn't. It was a pretty typical situation for a contentious game until Fournette escalated it.

Antonio Brown reportedly sat during Sunday's game because he skipped practice all week due to a confrontation with a teammate. Wonder if it can have offseason ramifications.

PFT is reporting that the other player was Big Ben. That could be a long term concern.

Gotta put those issues aside if you’re Big Ben and AB.
