Hey People, I am coming from Houston also! There are three of us so far...this will be our first Bonnaroo!! This is my sister's college graduation present from me...we're pretty excited.
WOW! What an awesome present! Maybe i'll get my sister that when she graduates!
"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski
Thanks guys!!! The gift was kind of selfish, bc I really want to go too!
What route are you guys taking??...our plan is...leave Wed after work (hopefully sneak out early) and drive to New Orleans and spend the night at a friend's house. A friend is flying into New Orleans that night to meet us. Leave very early Thursday morning from New Orleans, drive to Gunterville, AL to pick up the RV, and then its only 100 miles to Bonnaroo!
We will be getting there Thursday afternoon...do you think that is too late? I was reading on another board that getting there really early isn't always a good thing. Plus, most of the RV sites don't look too far.
They don't run out of RV spots do they? I have my RV pass and everything. Can you tell I am an obsessive planner?

The route you are taking sounds like a good one to me. Especially because you've got a place to stay in New Orleans. Nice. Thursday afternoon is a good time to get there, I would say. Just make sure you can get in and settled before any bands that you want to see start. I don't really know much about the RV spots/passes, but if I had to guess, I would say you're going to get a spot with a pass, especially on thurs afternoon. And no, you're not an obsessive planner, just obsessed with bonnaroo, which is AWESOME!!
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i would say as early as possible...
i know it takes around 13 hours for houston so it cant be that much better for you....
and we always leave thursday and miss a WHOLE DAY of bonnaroo....
thats the one thing i regret every year....this year i plan to leave on wed.... we have never done VIP tho, but typically we get there around midnight or 1 AM and have no problems getting in, and each year we were within 15 minutes of centeroo, but yea ur VIP...so i dunno
so the lesson i learned this weekend was that no one should go camping in Landa rv park & campground. just a warning to anyone looking for a spot to camp. that place is nooooooo bueno

anyone from dallas in here? more importantly, anyone from dallas in here catch Dylan this weekend at HOB? man, great time. hes old and his voice is just not the same, but he was totally jamming out. SUCH a great setting for a living legend like bobby. if he was 40 years younger id fuck the shit out of him.

I've seen him three times, all at the Savannah Civic Center. 1978?, 1991, and 2006. The lfirst time was wonderfull, right after Street Legal came out. There has definitely been a decline in quality vocally over the years, but I'll still see him again whenever I get the chance. He is a National Treasure.

I was disappointed with Bob Dylans performance at ACL, I had high expectations, and it was nowhere near it. Hopefully the HOB show was better. I will be seeing NOFX this weekend at the House Of Blues and Justice next week at Palladium. Not long after will be Radiohead and then Bonnaroo. Hooray MUSIC!

ditto on the ACL performance. there were people around us actually recording him with their phones/cameras, just so that people would believe him when he said how crazy bad it was. i mean, he's a living legend, and i can say i've seen him live, but it was sad.
i'm hitting up citizen cope at stubb's this weekend, then radiohead, then bonnaroo, then tom petty!!
