if i wasn't broke as a joke i'd hit that up. although, i'll be interested to know how security handles the crowd. the last few times i've been to stubb's they've been pretty hardcore about cutting down on the corn users.
Really?? The last couple of shows I've been to at stubb's I didn't have a problem being public about my corn at all. (Except of course by some creepy tall curly headed guy who kept following me around and staring at me during old crow)
We've never had a problem at Stubb's either...what shows were you last at hippie?
I want to go to Snoop, but it's just a few days after Tool in SA, so I don't know what kind of money we'll have. Probably not enough....but I'm not giving up hope.

i couldn't even tell you at this point. i think one was pepper, maybe thievery a while back....i know there was another one, but i can't recall. maybe sharon jones? i just remember every time we saw the security guys standing on that staircase leading up to the VIP area and shining their flashlights all over the crowd. i saw at least one person caught and taken out at each show, and we were in the middle of the crowd.
Oh wow, maybe I've just never noticed. I thought you meant just getting in....once we're in I never pay attention. The most trouble I've ever had there was having security on me for climbing the tree by the stairs during Ratatat.
So went to ghostland last night at whitewater rocks. Once again, they put on a sick show. BUT. I hated the crowd! Like a lot. There were so many drunk out of their minds people and they were shoving and stepping on toes. It was kind of awful. Luckily once the music started going, it wasn't so bad. People started dancing and not moving around so much. Plus I am 99.9% sure I stood next to elijah wood and some of his friends. I was super corned out, so I might just be crazy but I really believe it was him.

"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski
hey guys hope all is well. i'm so sorry to hear about your dad. hope things are on the upswing!
Summer fest was so much fun. 12 bucks for that line up was awesome. I hope they do that every year because it was nice having something like that in Houston.
Anyone plan on going to los campesinos on sunday in houston?
Garth Algar: Do you ever get the feeling Benjamin's just using us?
Wayne Campbell: Good call. It's like he wants us to be liked by everyone. I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.
I'm a Texan now! We got to Lubbock about 2 weeks ago. I've already tracked down a local hoop group, and a flow arts event happening in a couple weeks. Not too shabby so far.
so im wanting to go to the decemberists show at house of blues in houston on 10/02. i have two questions that maybe somebody could help me with. first, if one were to purchase tickets at the venue day of, do they add the service fees, etc, or would it be the price they have listed on the hob website ($25 day of)? second, do shows generally sell out at hob? i would like to purchase tickets at the door to avoid the extra $20 in fees through TM, but am contemplating just paying the outrageous fees.
edit: nevermind. the extra fees would only be like $13. guess ill just go the TM route to guarantee tix
^I bet it won't sell out. I don't think any HOB Houston shows I've gone to have been sold out when I got there. But it's definitely a risk if you're coming from san antonio.
so anyone going to the houston puscifer show on the 27th?
Jig! How ya been man?
Hey all Texas Roo goers, I have posted in this thread before way back in 08 because I was thinking about going. This year is looking like the year I finally try out Bonnaroo instead of Coachella!
Just wanted to start posting to get to know people. Still have over half a year left though, so plenty of time, haha
