I decided I wasn't going to Roo this year and I have been beyond bummed the last two days. I still have my ticket, but flights are way too expensive. Anyone in Austin, or Houston, or wherever really still want/need to find another person to carpool with?!
Austin here, I'm in need of a ride myself, or in a worst case scenario I can use my car (It isn't ideal, but possible) if I can get people to pitch in for gas. Anybody have extra space? I'm travelling light, plan on meeting up with friends coming from the opposite direction once I get there.

I was gonna go in a van with 4 friends, but 2 bailed, so I cancelled my reservation and will packing my car to the brim. Heading out from Fort Worth tomorrow morning with one friend. Hopefully I can refresh her on driving a stick, if not it will be a long drive.

I was really suprised when Perry was re-elected to the Governor's office after threating to seced from the Union over his unhappiness with Obama's healthcare plan. For a group of people who claim to be so patriotic it seems strange the Tea Party would back that. If you don't like the President that the people of this country elected get out to the polls the next time and vote him out, don't say you're leaving the country. Hopefully he will be exposed for the lame politician he is during the race for the Republican nomination, but then again that could be just the type of thing this new wave of right wingers can rally behind. The more radical the better. Even former Bush aides are dismissing him as an idiot.

Rick Perry will NOT be the next president. Full stop.
His act will not play in Ohio or Michigan or Wisconsin, and based on his talk about killing Social Security, he's dead meat in Florida. Romney will get after Obama's tail, however.

One of my coworkers forwarded this around today, but I put them online.
This is some Texas wildfire pictures taken from around Possum Kingdom on a wild game camera. The fire rolls thru and burns everything around in 5 minutes. I was told the entire lease of 2500 acres burned down and the camera melted but the SD card was still intact. Located near graham Texas not dar from my hunting lease.
that is not to diminish what is going on right now, it is really awful and one more reason why rick perry sucks a big corndog b/c he's taken away so much funding from public services.

It was stated the date was off in the email I got. I was told from someone who knows people on the lease. I figured I would post them online before it becomes a never ending email chain.
But yeah Perry is an idiot with one of the best campaign teams around. That along with the constant republican redistricting makes him hard to evict easily.
hopefully america isn't stupid enough to fall for this twice.
oh wait. we probably are.
I think you mean we did, Bush was reelected.
-Perry will not go over well in Florida -Romneny is Mormon, enough said. -Bachman has a shot, but she is a women (no offense to women, but I do not see the hard right going for that) -Newt is ugly as hell, but he is smart and we did have a balanced budget when he ran the house. -Cain, I think the best way to beat Obama would be with a blacker Black man. Cain just happens to be 100% African American and not 50%, like Obama. -Ron Paul, the best option, but is to republican for the ones who call themselves Conservative.
Sh!t, how did I get in this thread and now talking politics?
Howdy! My name is Hunter, and yes, I am a girl. Long time lurker, first time poster. This year will be my first roo, and I cannot wait after hearing many stories about the farm from my friends. Ive been reading up on the boards, taking in as much information as I can before June rolls around. Im planning on flying, so this might be a little tricky. I live about 20 minutes outside of Houston called Cypress. Anyways, just thought i'd jump on the wagon, and make my first post.

I heard a rumor that Andrew bird may be at 35 Denton. Really hope so since i will be going to sxsw when he has his show in Dallas the following Thursday. I hate missing Andrew Bird and I missed his last Dallas show due to sxsw also.

Gotcha, he did just get added for the SXSW NPR showcase at Stubb's on Wednesday. Will try and make it for that if possible, but gonna play it by ear since it's probably a wristband show.

Yeah, he's in Europe the weekend of NX35, but his first show back is Dallas (or maybe second after SXSW), so TX is in luck.

Anyone live in Austin?? If so, are there any rumors on who will be playing auditorium shores during SXSW.
I don't know if there is another topics around SXSW but it would be nice once the roo lineup comes out to compare crossovers so we can check them out at a small show in Austin beforehand.

Anyone plan on attending Dallas' post SXSW Brofest at Club Dada March 18. The lineup seems decent enough so far.
