they just released the free press summer fest lineup. it is really good for such a "small" fest. i already picked up my ticket and at 45$ i ain't complaining. i have a feeling it will only continue to get better every year.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
^yeah it was pretty balls hot last year. i am just really lucky, my friend and her fiance own a place maybe 3 blocks/5 min walk away and we could pop back there whenever for a nap/drink/cool down.
i could understand how it would turn a lot of people off. it is also my first weekend of summer, so i will be celebrating my freedom from work. haha.
At the Drive In is playing Red 7 in austin this monday. small club show. If anyone can get a ticket this will be an EXTREMELY memorable show. F@#$ Coachella when I can see them in the same size venue as back in '99. They were only 20 dollars wtf!
Hey, is TN in June similar or worse compared to TX in the summer? Ive lived in TX my whole life, and just curious if I should be concerned about how hot it might actually get out there on a farm for 8 hours a day, without much or no shade....

Temperature-wise, it's about the same as TX (in the 90's pretty much), but ALOT more humidity. But at night, it actually cools down, instead of staying 100+ degrees
with 30 somethn days left until go-time i've been unceremoniously ditched (albeit for valid reasons), and am partnerless for 'roo. i have some hometown friends i'll at some point meet up with during the festival, but after last year i REALLY don't wanna havta make that epic drive solo. also, it'd be awesome to have someone(S) to camp with because, well, truth be told, i'm awful at tent assembly.
i digress.
looking for anyone from Austin area that's down to carpool and kick it. i DO have a car and my departure/return dates are flexible (need to lock 'em down in a few weeks though). i only ask that you're not a serial killer OR pedophile, and you're just as excited to see ludacris & the antlers in the same weekend as i am. i myself am a 20-somethn chick; maybe i work at the alamo drafthouse, maybe i freelance write here and there . . . maybe i enjoy the festival circuit, cooking and puppies.
do you like transcending space and time? do you kind of REALLY wish black joe lewis was playing again this year? are you a ny transplant? are you a closet nerd? do you enjoy beer lacrosse? do you like whiskey? are you an attractive, single male in his mid-20's, possibly with awesome facial hair and tattoos?
if yes, then we'll probably get along swimmingly. in fact - we may just be soul mates.
ALSO totally down to get down with an existing carpool if they've got an extra spot open.
hit me back here or shoot me an email if you're down for the cause! nbostic07@gmail.com
Coming from Denton going up through Texarkana to pick up my lone companion. Can probably fit two more in my Jeep. Message me if you're interested and not insane, wouldn't mind splitting gas and helping someone out.

Houston/Louisiana Roo Peeps! I will be driving to Roo from Houston Wed. Having a wing person is always the coolest, as I have made the journey before. I am currently solo, but have ample room in an SUV, so PM me if you need a way to the legendary ROOOOOO!! Peace and Great Karma to all of you! WILL
Is it too early to start thinking about how I'm getting there? This will be my first time to go and as of right now, my plans are to drive and camp solo. I will have room in my car or I'm not opposed to riding with someone who has extra room. Houston to Tennessee is a long drive and I'd prefer not to go it alone.

Houston To Roo is a good 13 hour drive if you only stop for bathroom breaks. Last year was my first year but I went with 3 other friends, and changed drivers every 3-4 hours. Still being in the car that long is not fun. I would offer a ride but its still too early for me to know the exact number of people are going in my group. I will know in a few weeks though. As a fellow Houstonian I wish you the best!
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

My GF and I are headed to the farm via Austin TX. We bought VIP passes and plan to camp in that area. It'd be cool to meet up with some other Texas peeps camping there!

I'm currently planning on carpooling up with one friend from the Dallas area. we're also in the process of booking Groop Camping. can't promise a ride right now just because there's a slight chance i'll be coming down from West Virginia instead of up from Texas at the time of the fest, but it's a verrry likely possibility. And we definitely have room for you in our Groop ($35/person with a guaranteed pretty good campsite location) if you're interested. however, there's only a parking pass for every 3 people.. so we'd have to work that out. but i mean.. you could always park elsewhere and still camp with us at our site.

It's never too early to get your Roo plans together. As of right now, I know that myself and a friend are going...perhaps my brother will join at a later date. Texas to Roo is not the best of drives, but with the right people, it is a bit more pleasant. We will be taking off from San Antonio in the AM of the Wednesday before Roo, and coming back sometime Monday morn. The past two times, we've stayed in Nashville the night before the fest for one more night in a bed, and a final shower...as of right now, the tradition will continue. This will be Roo number four for me, so plenty of knowledge. If you're still looking for a ride/group to hang with closer to the fest, feel free to PM.

It seems like that was last year's lineup. Maybe not. I know there are lots of returning acts if it's new. I can't remember who headlines, but remember some of the undercard

They've been doing a good job of booking the lineup the past couple of years and I'm sure it will be good again this time. I think a couple of people on here are planning to go.

That line up from 2012 is pretty sweet for the price of tickets. Looked them up on FB, it looks like the line up will be out this week maybe? If it's a good line up that cheap ticket will be pretty tempting..
yes that lineup is last year's. i've been twice and it has gotten bigger and more crowded every year. tickets are cheap, but its hot as balls.
i have a good friend from college who lives with her husband just a few blocks from there, so i stay there and can walk home if it gets too hot and what not.
if your drive is less than 5 hours it is worth it IMO.

They're announcing the 2013 line-up through The Houston Chronicle on Thursday. Rumored acts include The Postal Service, Arctic Monkeys, and Of Monsters and Men (based on tour dates). We will see soon enough!
