Paramore didn't play Misery Business at Boston Calling. People aren't gonna be happy about that if it stays that way for Roo. They even played the instrumental track from the After Laughter.
I remember reading somewhere that they hate that song, Hayley in particular has mentioned that the lyrics make her cringe now.
Also I think U2's set didn't get extended to 2 hours until the day of the show and the late night stuff was pushed back, so the same could happen for Muse

I'm still probably going to check out Little Cinema during part of his set, but come back for at least the last portion of his set. I just know I want to see Little Cinema while I'm there, and there really isn't a better time than during Em for me. It's in pod 3 though, so should only be a 5-10 minute walk from What stage.
Someone created + posted this graphic to Reddit based on artist 'adds' on the Roo site. With only 1K being the max number of adds any artist has gotten, I definitely wouldn't assume that it's reliable. But it's still interesting to look at.
Notables: - The Killers are the most added act. - Muse is pretty clearly the least popular HL act. - Paramore is the most added non-headliner act, which is sort of surprising imo. - Bon Iver has basically the same # of adds as Nectar. - T-Pain sticks out as a lower-billed act with a good # of adds. I already assumed this, but his tent is almost definitely going to be massively overflowed. - By contrast, Sturgill, as the #6 billed act, has less adds than anyone else in the Top 15, and it really isn't close. - Sylvan Esso, as a non-late night tent act, have more adds than both the What & Which pre-HL acts (i.e., .Paak & OCMS, respectively) on Saturday. - Adds for the Opry sets are abysmal. - Aside from Nectar, EDM acts in general don't have a whole lot of adds.
Again, not necessarily reliable, though I would say that the numbers for artists who stick out in comparison to other acts billed around them (e.g., Sturgill, T-Pain, Opry) are likely more indicative of what kinds of crowds are to be expected.

When the lineup came out I was surprised by how high Sturgill was booked. I felt Paramore should have been a subheadliner. They have almost 5 songs on Spotify with 100+ million plays, and a bunch of other hits too. Kinda crazy they're playing in the daytime.

Interesting that not even the attendees are interested in EDM cannon fodder.

This makes me feel like I'm missing out even more because I'd be at so many of these low-attended shows. Look how tiny those numbers are for Sturgill, Opry, BSS, Jungle, Moses Sumney, Tyler Childers, Amadou & Mariam, and Japanese Breakfast.

I think that may be more a product of a lot of the EDM crowd being newer attendees who don’t really utilize the website. I know a group of people who are going largely for Nectar + the Other, and none of them really use the website or any online chat board (Reddit, FB, here).
Again, I think the only things that may end up carrying weight are the acts that have a disproportionate number of adds in comparison to the acts billed around them.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
Further proof that the billing was wonky af and makes the lineup look weird/worse.
Sturgill should have been lower, Sheryl higher, Paramore and Alt-J higher.
I guess Dua Lipa higher lol. She was playing at the damn UEFA final the other day.
I feel like Sturgill being so high is a deliberate attempt at setting apart this festival.
With all the country/grand ole opry stuff I feel like they’re trying to appeal to that particular niche a bit and make Roo a little unique among the major fests

Yeah. I'm sure that's right. Sheryl Crow probably should have been higher, still.

Her recent album sales have been embarrassing. She hasn't been certified gold since 08. Her last one sold a measly 20k.
More out of habit than anything else, sharing my final schedule plans—trying to be realistic this year on what I’ll actually have the endurance to see. Happy Roo, all. Looking forward to reporting back.
