Maybe of course not for shaky knees since I don't think that's their cup of tea, but kids see ghosts are playing their first show ever tonight. might they then announce a tour or a run of festivals this week?

The 1975 is playing Agganis like 3 days before the fest so I doubt they're there
Sold out that show, the fest used their song in the little 'retrospect' video they posted the other day and STILL has that weekend open. Granted, it would be super super weird and sorta stupid to get them at the festival AND a headline gig, but it *could* happen I suppose
Realistically, how likely do you guys think it is that the lineup for this will come out this week? I'm on the edge of my seat honestly, and the fact that there arent any insiders that post about this fest only makes it a more painful wait.

I think they generally drop the lineup in January, so unlikely it will be this week.

That is true, but I figured with the logo change and very active social media this year may be different. Not to mention Shaky Knees dropping tomorrow. However, you're probably right and I'm just setting myself up for disappointment.

As for undercard, I'm gonna go ahead and say Robert DeLong is doing this. He doesnt have a Boston date on this current fall run, just announced more winter dates and closest show is in Maine in Feb. I'd say this makes him more likely for BC.
Intresting I've only ever seen him in small clubs, idk if his show would translate well on a festival stage in the day time but we shall see

I'd be perfectly ok with that. I remember watching him on a Roo stream like 4 years ago and he looked fun. I hope we get KSG so badly though, it'll give Kanye more time to adjust to live performances haha. I wish they'd just announce clues or something.

Danny Brown played 2017 and Sharon Van Etten played May 2015 but yeah I'd love pretty much all of those acts at 2019. Parquet Courts is fantastic. I'd love to see Toro Y Moi there next year as well. I'm still clinging to the hope that we might get My Bloody Valentine too.

Right, I knew both of them played, just spaced out. But yeah MBV would be awesome.
In other news, Lady Lamb is once more not playing Boston Calling - just announced a show at the Royale on 5/31. Strangely there's a big gap in her tour between 5/23-30 though.

yeah there's also speculation that the 1975 will play because their tour sold out so fast.

I hope Big Red Machine are there! Im only concerned because both Bon Iver and The National seem to be going to Europe the next weekend.

No way Tame Impala or LCD are top line headliners at BC. The rule of thumb established in the last two editions is that Green Stage headliners would otherwise headline TD Garden or Fenway Park when playing Boston. Now, flip Post Malone and Tame Impala in the second scenario, and that could definitely fit.
I'm partial to the first of the three lineups, and not just because of Wilco. BTW, Action Bronson just announced a Boston show for early next year, so he's doubtful, but not impossible, given the number of 2018 BC acts who played locally earlier in the year.

I dont think Jack White or 2017 Chance would have played Fenway or TD Garden

Looking at the situation as cynically as possible, I wonder if Kayne's recent change of heart about Trump has something to do with the impending announcement of live shows, festivals or otherwise.
I just hope they have some rock and roll on the Blue Stage during a KSG set, because I can't stand Kanye's lame ass flow or Cudi's off-key singing. Better yet, put Childish Gambino or Kendrick Lamar in that spot.

Point taken on Jack White, but Chance had been on a steady-upward trajectory at that time. (Actually, Jack White did play Fenway, at a bleachers-facing stage with seating for 7.500, which is 300 more than Agganis holds for concerts. Still not Garden level, but bigger than any other in-town venue.)
What are the odds of Dave Matthews Band having a spot in this lineup? Those guys still pull the crowds all summer.
the answer to this is usually the same, that DMB brings in about the same amount in revenue per show as most #1 headliners, and most any modern festival wouldnt want to put Dave as a #1 as that would be what the cost of booking them would dictate. To put it in perspective, in 2016 DMB and Pearl Jam were pulling in the same revenue per show
