They're not getting a penny out of me until I know who's performing. The growing presence of new school R&B, rap, pop, and electronic music in festival lineups, none of which I particularly care for, suggests that I need to wait it out and see who's in the lineup.

My first guess would of been an earlier start on Friday
Friday only had 3 less artists than Sat/Sun, so if it's really going from 45 to 50 then it could mean that plus a couple extras. But also if they're considering things like the DJs at that Ikea area, or maybe implementing a small local stage again or something like that, that might let them bump that number up
I really hope this means we'll have opposing acts on the headliners now. I'll be so happy if i have another option during Twenty One Pilots.
I think that you're right. They've probably taken note of the many social posts from people unhappy about not enough of one genre or another, and they'll be counter-programming the Blue Stage during the headliners to offer something very different there, so people aren't bummed about an unopposed headliner that they don't care for.

One of their biggest fails last time was not listing the Ikea lineup on the schedule grid. A lot of people didn't know what was going on there and I'm sure that EDM fans would have appreciated a heads-up about Ikea World. (Those veggie dogs and bagged vegetables get a thumbs up from me.)
Anyone have an extra ticket for Pinegrove at The Sinclair for Sat 11/24 that they're willing to sell me? Somehow, I missed the original show announcement and it sold out before I could get a ticket. I could really go for a good show (i.e., someone whose music I like) soon. I had to toss my tickets to Richard Thompson and Jim James in the last few days, due to a death in the family this past week. I'm ready to go out and hear live music now, but there's nothing on my calendar until The Lemon Twigs and Dawes next year. If anyone can sell me a Pinegrove ticket, it would be greatly appreciated.
Gonna go ahead and say Foo Fighters are probably one of the headliners, based on Sonic Temple.
Wouldn't mind SoaD or The Prodigy either
Meh, I'm not a big Foo Fighters fan, would prefer they stick to Fenway. SoaD or The Prodigy would be cool though. I'd take Basement and Action Bronson. It's seeming less and less likely that any of the headliners I want will be there. Hoping I don't regret presale for once. The question really is whether Foos would be #1 or #2. seems like with the past couple of hears they've gone with stadium headliners for the #1s. Foos would break the pattern of the #1 being a rare, huge artist that never plays Boston.

Foo Fighters played stadiums at some of the dates on their most recent tour and they're definitely bigger than Tool.

That's true, but they still aren't a unique, rare live artist like Tool and (love him or hate him) Eminem was.

Hate the Foos but can we please get The Hives? I get they're doing a 4-day fest in Vegas the same weekend but stranger the Killers did Bottlerock and BC back to back Friday/Saturday, so it could happen and it would be GREAT methinks

rumor has it that refused and the hives will be doing a coheadline tour so I bet theyll just play House of Blues.

That would definitely be the worst top 4 they've ever had and I really hope you're wrong.
I hope I’m wrong too but with a strong undercard that’s the best selling lineup they’ve had.
As long as Aaron Dessner is still curating the festival I don't think we'll get something that terrible. I mean i love Tame Impala but the other 3 are awful.
Say what you want about their music but Foo put on one of the best live shows I’ve seen. I’ve hated all of 21 Pilots previous output but I kinda enjoyed Trench

I saw Foo Fighters three years ago at Fenway and it was one of the most disappointing shows I ever paid full price for. They'd be great if they just played 90 minutes without any bullshit talking and if they played the songs as they sound on record.
And I doubt that Aaron Dessner has much input on the headliners at this point, given how much the festival has grown. At least he still brings good undercard acts.
