Boston Calling always teases lineup drops and lesser news on social media in the days leading up to the announcement, so I'd be shocked if they announced today. It's more likely that we'll see a teaser tweet on the 7th or 14th, mentioning that big news is on the way.
So we thinking BC will still announce today? Or hold off because Coach will dominate the news cycle
That didn't stop them last year, so I don't think it would be all that prohibitive this year. They probably measured traffic to their website/press/etc over the last few years and figured out if it's better to piggyback on Coachella or wait until the following week. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they wait, but hoping they follow last year's pattern and drop it today.
Honestly, with how weak I think the Coachella lineup is, I think they'd get better attention dropping today if they feel confident about their lineup. On the other hand, if it's really similar to Coachella, they should probably wait a week. I imagine these decisions are made further in advance and set in stone by now, though.

as much as it would be nice to have KSG or even bino (who was great at the Garden), we all know deep down Travis will have that rap spot
EDIT: some editior or soemthing for NBCBoston commented on a tweet that said "I have heard the lineup is underwhelming at best", this editior guy replied with simply "Yuppp".

Knowing that people will expect the same timeline, I don't get why they (or really any festival) don't just say what day they're releasing. There would still be buzz and hype and speculation, but you wouldn't be stringing people along and creating frustration.
Haha yup... That random girl tweeting about seeing the poster on NYE and being underwhelmed didn't bother me at all, but seeing DJ say it scares me a lot.
I'm hoping that it's just that the headliners are underwhelming and that's always what people react to first. Still optimistic about getting a good undercard.

If there's a Boston date, would do Garden or Fenway over BC. Not worried about him.
Yeah, agreed. He's done a Fenway show each year for the last 5, which i would imagine will continue into the foreseeable future, similar to his MSG run. (Also, DJ Bean is obsessed with him, so i don't think he would've said the lineup was underwhelming if he was on it. Although there's nothing to say he's seen the lineup more than just maybe hearing about an artist or two.)

Imagine if Crash line got Kanye then the whole thing with coachella happened and now THEY are looking for a replacement headliner
i highly doubt that actually is what is going on and im sure they are just gonna hold off until Coach's press dies a bit but wouldnt that be funny/intresting thing to think about

BC is out here favoriting tweets about when the lineup is out- they favorited mine about 'how soon is soon', then replied to a tweet with 'SOON', with those emoji eyes replacing the o's.
