BC is out here favoriting tweets about when the lineup is out- they favorited mine about 'how soon is soon', then replied to a tweet with 'SOON', with those emoji eyes replacing the o's.
I think they are having too much fun with this
You got Okee'd. They were relentless with the "soooooon:)" posts.
someone on twitter claimed she saw the lineup on new years eve and said it was super underwhelming. If its bad enough i may just sell my pass and go to gov ball or something.
"Underwhelming" is entirely in the eye of the beholder.
I'd want to see her record collection or Spotify playlist before taking that opinion at face value. One person's underwhelming is another person's dream lineup.

I did take that into condideration. breifly looked at following list because i was curious(yes i know that seems stalkerish but i only wanted to gauge her music taste) and they seemed to be really into r&b and hip hop(artists like travis scott, tyler, brockhampton, frank ocean, kanye) so we'll have to see. i just want gambino or tame as a headliner

Who was the twitter user? If those are the examples of who she wants there it gives me hope that it’s a rock heavy lineup

Disclosure may be added to Hangout as...it is listed on the duo's site now. Unconfirmed/unannocuned and if may be a DJ set if it's like the other shows announced already but still
makes me think ANOTHER possible repeat, if they do hangout?

Exactly! For example I find the Coachella lineup to be amazing (as do most it seems) but I have A LOT of friends who are saying it is trash. An older person who only listens to rock/alternative may see Ariana Grande as a really underwhelming headliner, where as a 21 year old fan of pop/hip hop may see Tame Impala as disappointing.

Ooooh id be stoked. Love Disclosure.
Really strange that they'd list Hangout on their website without the festival announcing the addition... How long has that been up?
But yeah, i'd love to get Disclosure back here. The day they played in 2016 was one of only two Boston Calling days I've ever missed and I'm still bitter about it.
From a business standpoint, certainly, although not from an artistic standpoint.
I can't see them booking two headliners whose chief appeal ranges from ages 7 to 15. They could easily book either Grande or 21P, but not both.
We get it, you're old and bitter
So, you think it's good business to book headliners whose key demographic doesn't have credit cards and isn't allowed to go out unchaperoned after dark? Think it though.

I had assumed the "age 7-15" line was you exaggerating/trying to be funny... but c'mon now. You can't be serious. I'd say the "core" demo for both is like 15-25, and second-place would definitely be 25-35, especially for Ariana Grande, who has hugely expanded her appeal over the last year or two.
Like you said, she's got 2 Garden shows coming up, so she's definitely not playing BC... but theoretically she could and at least one 30 year old male thinks she'd be awesome.
last year they shared Em and Jack White - if BC starts with Flo and the Strokes I would be happy
My guess was we shared flo and kids see ghosts but since ksg dropped we're prob only sharing florence. I just can't see them booking the strokes sadly. seems like a special hometown show.

I agree with you - Strokes is me being hopeful since I am not going to Gov ball for a decent Flo day, the Strokes and nothing else on Sunday and literally nothing on Friday
BC starting with Flo would be a good starting point for me. Unfortunately they also shared a lot of rap/hip hop stuff and none of Gov Ball does anything for me this year
Florence + The Machine - Travis Scott - twenty one pilots
Childish Gambino - Florence + The Machine - twenty one pilots
Florence + The Machine - Tame Impala - twenty one pilots
Calling it being one of these
The first one seems to be the most realistic...all bands who played the garden within a month or two of each other, with the third option I feel is the most unrealistic I just think they will have a rap headliner.
would like to remind you guys again that if twenty one pilots ends up headlining this fest they will almost certainly be the #1.
this could very well be the case especially considering how them and the festival has been linked since (yes I will say I loved it) their set in '14. that being said while I loved their garden show this past October I don't need to see that set/show again.
can't we just come together and admit this lineup will most likely consist of repeat acts from 2014/15 b/c that's what I am thinking. and not the like GREAT acts either, the OK ones (besides Death Cab and a couple others lol)

My first thought...yeah, it makes sense for them to kick things off in NYC.
My second thought...they haven't performed in two years, they may want a couple of gigs to shake off the rust and dust before the big hometown festival performance.
Really curious to know if Kanye was supposed to headline Gov Ball's Friday... That day just seems so so weak. The lineup overall is super underwhelming. Looking below the third line of each day, i think i only know like 3-4 names total and would only care about seeing one or two.
The Strokes at BC would make me very happy, though i still think we're looking at Florence/Travis/TOP. Really hoping we get Kacey and Sza, which both seem entirely possible.

Bottlerock is out. Intreating lineup to say the least- Onerepublic, logic, Neil Young, Mumford.
Begs the question, in the past yes we didn't really have overlap with Bottlerock until the Killers did Friday BC/Bottlerock Saturday so there is some time to do something.
Also begs the question, what band just played the Garden, is on Bottlerock for what looks like a one-off right now, came out with an album in November, and is doing good numbers on their tour?
I love them a lot, am seeing them in Providence and was front row in 2017 but if Mumford tops a day at BC (would be Friday) again come on now Crash Line
Not saying it's gonna happen but if they need a replacement...
Bottlerock is probably my favorite lineup so far... Interesting mid-level bands (Jeff Goldblum! Isn't Chevy Metal just the Foo Fighters playing covers?!) although still not many lower-half bands/acts i've even heard of, nevermind care about.
I think bands being on this lineup make it slightly less likely that they'll be at BC, but based on having a little overlap in the past, i don't think we can rule anyone out. Really really hoping we get Gang Of Youths still.
