The "issue" is that a lot of people (myself included) hate TOP and would rather have "rock headliner" money go to a good rock band... but oh well. I've resigned to just accept it at this point.
Sounds like she hasn't actually seen a lineup, but good to know it's coming out on Thursday. Still wish they would've just said that publicly through some dumb Twitter post or something.
There's usually a hook of some sort to their lineup drop -- event at Tasty Burger, scavenger hunt for vinyl, mailing out cardboard, tweeting clues, music-challenged sports talk hosts announcing the lineup, etc. It would be odd for them to just announce it on Thursday morning.
Sadly they haven't done that in a little bit. They legit just dropped it last year!

Well, there was that late-night lineup poster leak the previous evening, which created all of that "real vs. unreal" controversy.

Yeah i somehow knew it was real. Just looked wayy too well made to be a fake. Side note: placeholder acts from last year were just removed from the app. Lineup is definitely out this week.

Taking the placeholders down makes it feel like this could be dropping tomorrow... Why would they bother prepping the app if it was going to drop Thursday? (Or maybe I'm just looking for reasons to get the lineup ASAP)
Tiered ticketing is interesting and probably a good idea... Also it's definitely more expensive this year, right? (at least at the upper tiers)
Also worth noting that the info page says Friday still starts a little later (Gates at 2:30) which means the 5 band increase is not related to making Friday a full day.

So shorter sets on Sat/Sun then....hmmmmmmmm
Or, as someone else here suggested a while back, the increased number of performers likely means counter-programming on the Blue Stage during headliners' sets...which is a great idea.

Not necessarily... I'm thinking/hoping that they can keep the Blue Stage transitions down to a tight 30min between sets (maybe 40 max) because there's been downtime as long as an hour over there towards the end of the day. Making up a little time that way, plus adding Blue Stage acts that oppose headliners, and i think we can squeeze in 5 more (probably 1/2/2 by day). Of course it's also possible that a few sets get cut down 5 or 10min to help make it all work. I guess we'll wait and see.
some dude apparently thinks Fun. is gonna reunite and headline saturday night from rumors he heard. hoping thats not the case but its something i could see em doing.

okay okay okay hear me out
I would cry if that happened, Some Nights is a great album u cannot change my mind ahahha
EDIT: is there like...any concrete evidence or why this dude thinks that before I get hyped? besides Bleachers going on hiatus, Nate Ruess not doing much and Andrew Dost just chilling? And..the very good relationship the band has with the fest? I mean hey for the first 3 years there was someone tied to fun each year (Fun. 2013, Bleachers 2014, Nate Ruess 2015)

Yeah, I figured. Not expecting it but as you said I can see it happening
What im expecting: Flo/Travis Scott/ TOP or soemthing like that
What I'd wanna see: Childish Gambino/ TOP/ FUN.
Yes, all of them are repeat headliners but all 3 either were or are massive since the time they played the festival the first time and Fun. would draw a crowd especially if it was a one-off.
