Is it safe to say that we'll see an even better lineup next year due to not having to compete with sasquatch for acts?
Probably to some degree, yes. It won’t hurt.
Silver linings
Then again, more than a handful of acts did both festivals in the same year for a number of years now. Artists may prefer to put up with the cross-country flight to get two paydays in one weekend. More hassle, but maybe you're out for fewer weekends total.

Lol nope
The fact that The National, Tyler The Creator, Thundercat, Perfume Genius, Noname, Julien Baker, Big Thief, (Sandy) Alex G, and Charly Bliss did both Boston Calling and Sasquatch this year -- while The Killers, Mike D, and Manchester Orchestra performed at both Boston Calling and BottleRock -- would suggest that a "two birds, one stone" festival weekend is preferred by some acts.

2) An article on how the decibel levels in neighboring areas this year compared to 2017. The surprising reveal is that the decibel levels were lower off-site this year, even though the music sounded louder on the grounds to my ears this year. It sounds as though there were subtle changes made to the positioning of the PA stacks and/or stages to minimize the volume in Harvard Square.
If a casino was taking bets on the acts who'll play Boston Calling next year, the safest bet would be Snail Mail. She's going to be *everywhere* on the festival circuit next year, just watch.

It’s the off season.
There is no off season. Indie617 just retweeted the recent Boston Calling tweet that asks who you'd like to see in the lineup next year.
Festival promoters have said in various interviews that booking a festival pretty much begins right after the previous year's edition concludes.

Yup. Asia in the fall then the full festival circuit next year.
As someone said in another thread. It would be awesome if Kids See Ghosts was the Eminem of next years festival season.
I had to Google "Kids See Ghosts" to figure out why an act I've never heard of would be headlining festivals.
(Personally, I'd rather see Kendrick or Gambino in that spot.)
#HeyKidsGetOffMyLineup
Kendrick is my favorite rapper of all time but his live shows have been very underwhelming recently. Unless he added more tpab or gkmc. His festival sets have only been an hour long recently. Although would love to see Gambino. I dont have the money to shell out for floor at TD Garden. Kids See Ghosts is my aoty tho so im biased.

Kendrick was great at firefly. He just didn’t fill his time slot which made me sad.
I feel like Aerosmith will be the #1 billed. They fit the same deal as Tool and Eminem.(massive artist who havent played boston in years, and it's their home city) Plus it's the top voted comment on the facebook post they made a week ago asking for requests. They also have a break from late april to late june from the vegas residency to play.

I've got no problem with that. I'd rather someone better but at worst I get to check Aerosmith off the list or I just leave early
