I don't know what a Sheck Wes is, but yeah.... how is it so high up? Literally never heard of he/she/they(?) before. Surprised Janelle isn't higher, but not mad because if she's earlier in the day then there will be fewer people there.
He's a Soundcloud rapper whose hit 'Mo Bomba' is massive right now. it's a freestyle written in like 30 mins, then the computer crashed but they kept it in the song. My biggest issue with it is- in 6 months- is he REALLY gonna still warrant such a big billing?

I don't feel guilty, I feel like you're defining an entire metropolitan area by a particular stereotype propagated in literature/TV/movies which is a spot on description of particular neighborhoods, but doesn't begin to capture the variety of life here. It's the immense diversity on every level here, that makes the Boston area a vibrant and special place.
Why do you insist upon defining the area by a handful of drunk guys in Bruins jerseys, and not, say, the ton of authors, artists, scientists, and tech visionaries who live in the area?
Why do you insist on believing that acknowledging Boston’s long and storied racist past somehow negates the non-racist history?
But Michael Che's thing isn't "Man, Boston was such a racist place fifty years ago." It feels like his perception of modern Boston begins and ends with The Departed and Mystic River. Those people are there, but they're hardly everyone or most people.

Boston is still an incredibly racist city, like most cities in the USA.
Also I do want to ask who's Black Star? Why are y'all freaking about them/him/her whoever they are?
OG Talib Kweli & Mos Def (Yasiin Bey). Look at Most Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star. 1998 or so, but a pretty killer and important Brooklyn/Underground Rap album.
The top 2 lines are rough. I only have interest in seeing 3 of those top 8 names (Tame Impala, Odesza, Anderson Paak). I was 6 of 8 last year and 7 of 8 in 2017... The strong undercard combined with a solid comedy lineup if i end up with downtime, not to mention the potential of Blue Stage scheduling overlapping headliners, means I'm definitely still in.
Anyone who may write off Odesza as being generic and/or just like any other electronic act, please reconsider. I'm not into much pop-EDM stuff, but Odesza is different... you probably know the poppy singles but a lot of their stuff is much more interesting. And the live show is LEGIT. Full drumline, live horns, plus great lights. Highly recommend.
odesza is pretty good, but if you've seen them anytime in the last year and half basically, you've already seen the set they'll do at bc
True, but i'd pay to see that show once a month if i could. I saw them at Red Rocks in June (and House of Blues the December before that) but the only chance i'd miss them at this festival is if the conflict was with Janelle or Black Star.

haha yea I'm a big Odesza fan and I've seen their current set 5 times over the last year or so and still enjoy it. If they schedule Odesza into Tame I'd be so pumped.
lol Jenny is infinitely better than Pete (who isn't funny)
Jenny Slate is a great comedic actress and sketch performer, while Davidson is out of his depth in SNL sketches. But his stand-up is great.
Eh I saw him at the Comedy Cellar and thought it was your basic "I smoke tons of weed and jerk off" stuff. This was a while back, maybe he's gotten better?

the album got an 8.4 on Pitchfork fwiw
That album is unbelievably mediocre; definitely did not deserve that high of a rating, but then again, it is Pitchfork.

He was amazing on one of the recent Comedy Central roasts.

I think I might try to do whatever day Tame Impala are headlining which hopefully has Black Star too.
Anybody else annoyed that seemingly every other fest has released theirs as the daily lineup except this one? Probably trying to lock people in for what is usually a big travel weekend but still..
im so excited about this lineup, hozier into tame impala sounds like a dream and i hope that’s how it plays out. also ODESZA will probably bring out sasha sloan for their song together which will be cool

Waiting on this and Shaky Knees by-day breakdowns to figure out my May.
Huge sinking feeling in my gut when I saw this lineup. The couple of acts I like I've seen recently or will see them at festivals prior to BC. I will be shifting my earlybird VIP at cost at some point. Is there a preferred established market for BC passes?
