I suspect that if festival bookers had known how huge and how quickly Eilish would blow up, she would have been booked to headline a lot of festivals this year.
Again, though, if going with two heavy "youth appeal" acts this year doesn't sell as well as 2017 and 2018, I'd expect at least one headliner next year who's an established hit maker or legacy act next year. If there's one rock headliner, they'd sell more passes with Radiohead or Neil Young than with Vampire Weekend (The Strokes would be a good choice if they haven't played Boston by next May since reuniting this year.)

I think Radiohead might be something of a stretch for any US festival smaller than your Coachellas or Bonnaroos. They could've hit the festival circuit last year, but instead did their own arena thing all summer and sold it the hell out. I'm just not sure, unless something dramatic changes, what the draw of playing something like a BC or GovBall would be for them.

I dunno. I think Radiohead might be on a different level. They sold out Madison Square Garden four times over in an hour. I don't think either Eminem or Tool could do that.

Think you are underestimating Eminem’s pull
I totally could be. But I still don't see Radiohead playing a festival like Boston Calling in the near future. I could absolutely be wrong about that. I am often wrong, about so, so many things.

The only acts I'd rule out are ones that almost always headline at Gillette when they come through the area -- Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, anyone else?

I present Boston Calling's country & western booking for 2019.
I've just discovered the existence of this person today...and then I went looking to see if he actually has any connection to Nas, at all. Nope! He just took the name of a far more successful artist. Stay tuned for the debut of my band, Lil Rolling Stones J.
