Damn, this schedule is making a weak lineup even worse by creating conflicts in a lineup where I shouldn't really be seeing conflicts, since there aren't that many acts I'm remotely excited about.
Saturday seems like a real clustermess, with both Pile stuck between two alt-pop acts (flip Princess Nokia and Pile, and you've improved the situation immensely), and a bunch of the most interesting acts of the weekend (IMHO) at opposite ends of the grounds overlapping or without sufficient travel time between them (Hozier, .Paak, Big Red Machine, King Princess).
I'm probably not even going to go on Friday now, since two of the only three things I wanted to see that day (Fred Armisen and Gang Of Youths) overlap.

I think this has been asked before but for the Arena how early would one need to show up to be able to get in for Michael Che on Sunday
Plan to get to the arena much earlier than the headliner if you want to see the headliner. It's very easy to get in one or two acts before, but the lines get very long right before the comedy headliner performs.

Last year they gave out guaranteed arena entry wristbands first thing in the morning, first come first served. If you had one of those wristbands, you had a separate entrance with no line.

Hadn't they announced that by this time last year? They may not be doing it again.
^I'm really hoping this is it. I would absolutely love to be able to see Mitski, Big Red Machine, .Paak, and Tame on Saturday. Mitski has really taken her show to a whole other level on this tour, and I would love to see her again.

I am so grateful for the Saturday schedule. denzel curry, big red machine, anderson .paak and tame impala are the only artists i have remotely any interest in seeing on the lineup, and i can see them all. thank you boston calling.
Friday and Sunday have some tough conflicts mid-day, but that Saturday schedule is great.
Friday being day 1, it'll be easier to have the energy to run around a little and catch half-sets. Pale Waves > first half Mura Masa > all of GOY > second half Lord Huron > not sure about Tank vs Christine > Chvrches.
Saturday, I wish Mitski and King Princess were flipped because i'd rather see KP, but that's a relatively small complaint. I'll be at the main stages all evening.
Sunday is the toughest by far, i think. Snakehips vs Guster and then RKS vs Marina, when i wanted to see all 4, is particularly frustrating because i don't care at all about SOB or Sheck who are essentially playing unopposed in between those conflicts.

The Coachella people raved about Christine's stage production

I've seen Christine & the Queens three times, now, since first catching her at GovBall 2016. She's amazing. I know Tank & the Bangas are also pretty great, but if you've never caught one of Heloise's shows, I can't recommend it highly enough.

I caught most of the Christine set back at Boston Calling 2016, but I didn't know any of the music at the time. Never seen Tank. I don't really listen to either of them, but both are known for really great live shows. I'll end up going along with whatever my group decides. The main stage area will probably be full of GVF and TOP fans, so I'm leaning towards staying as far away from that as possible and going with Tank. Probably a gametime decision either way.
Christine is a transcendent performer. Having seen both, if you like both of their music, Christine is the easy choice (and that's not to denigrate Tank in any way, she's that good)
If anyone's getting to town on Thursday and weighing the musical options that night, all-star indie rock band Filthy Friends are playing at The Sinclair, featuring members of R.E.M., Sleater/Kinney, and The Minus 5.

Passion Pit is also playing a set featuring Manners in full among other songs at House of Blues and Juice WRLD and Ski Mask the Slump God are at Agganis Arena that night. Speaking of which Passion Pit would have made such a great sub in place of GVF. May 22nd has Tash Sultana and American Football at Rockland pavillion and Paradise too, respectively.

Anyone else think the late night dj sets in the arena are there to gauge interest for turning the arena into an all day edm stage next year? It got me thinking and it feels like the next logical step. They always have been lacking in that area imo. they could try to book some acts at Movement.

Passion Pit would have been a good throwback to the 2013 lineup too.

Why lose the comedy lineup? The headliners usually fill the arena. The day is long enough to accommodate both, and still squeeze in even more programming.
