Hey, question for the locals: Are there bars and such in proximity to the festival grounds for those of us who might want to go out after close, or should we be looking to other parts of town? Sorry if that's a dumb question - I'm not particularly familiar with Boston.

there's no less than 25 bars in Harvard square, which is where the subway stop is and is a 10 min walk from the fest

Oh, thanks! Any particular recommendations?
Depends on what you're looking for. Good cocktails: Russell House, Longfellow, or Park. Best beer selection: Beat Brew Hall. Cheaper/divey options: Charlie's Kitchen or Grendel's Den. Those are most of my go-to's.
I'm really curious about the sales of this fest. I bet friday sold the worst and saturday sold the best. they did a really bad job at distributing the acts across each day.
The e-mail notes that they're giving away wristbands "all weekend," so they're likely one-day passes.
Aren't they one of the recurring sponsors? I've gotten free tickets each year in the past from various corporate partners, so this doesn't seem out of the ordinary.
its pretty low precipitation predicted so far though
How muddy do these grounds get? Should I pack the waterproof hiking boots?
It can get pretty muddy in front of the Red and Green stages (or you can hang back farther from the stage in the astroturf-covered area where the rows of vendor booths begin).
The entire Blue stage area is covered in astroturf.

It's not going to be a total washout, so i dont think you need to wear any sort of extreme footwear. I just wouldn't wear sneakers that you really care about keeping clean.

No two Boston media weather forecasts for this weekend are the same, but keep in mind that the local TV stations are seen widely on cable throughout New England and tailor their news and weather accordingly. WBZ is predicting possibly thunderstorms on Sat evening, but mainly in VT and NH and northernmost MA.
You're going to want to watch this nearly 10 minute segment on Boston Calling from NBC Boston 10. See how many factual errors made by Gov. Charlie Baker you notice (I spotted two).

"Ahead of the 10th edition of Boston Calling, we talked to co-founders Mike Snow and Brian Appel about how they founded and launched the first major music festival in the northeast."
Not to be that guy, but GovBall preceded BC by a couple of years, no? And that's not even to mention the deceased, like All Points West and The Bamboozle.
Anyone going tomorrow? Pretty psyched for Lord Huron and Mura Masa. but as a whole its pretty tame(pun intended) compared to Saturday.
I’m heading in from NYC tomorrow - aiming to get in around Pale Waves. Christine and the Queens & Tank and the Bangas are both outstanding, pretty sure I’m going the Chris route. Lord Huron yes.
Saturday’s definitely the heavy hitter. Mitski —> Big Red Machine —> Anderson Paak —> Odesza —> Tame Impala
I'm probably going for at least part of each day Sat & Sun, but I've been having some major laptop issues which are impacting my ability to work in my home office, so getting a new laptop up and running this afternoon is my priority.
One advantage to an underwhelming lineup is that I'm not particularly disappointed if other matters take precedence over the festival this weekend. #SilverLining
Leaving work at 3. Hoping to get there for Gang of Youths.
Looking forward to Christine. Rest of the evening I'll see how I'm feeling. Probably catch a little of everything and bow out when I get bored with 21P.

Definitely check out Yaeji in the arena if 21P isn't your thing, bummed I'm missing her. If you can keep an eye on the Camelbak situation I'd appreciate it. Have a great time!
