No. Somebody just has to do the simple research to verify the property, the true consideration (how much they paid and was it only cash or something else and whether it’s arms length) and then look up the Florida Corp on Sunbiz for the principals and then the WY Secretary of State if they are open source to see who those people are. It sounds complicated but it’s easy. I’d do it if I was gonna be at work but I won’t have a computer until Tuesday.
In simpler terms:
1) Look at the warranty deed for the doc stamp cost and divide by .007. That gives the price.
2) look at Exhibit A on the deed where the legal descriptions of the two properties are. Map those on the county property assessors map online to verify if those parcels are where Okeechobee is held. I think Florida even requires tax parcel numbers on their deeds so it’s kust typing in those digits.
3) Verify the principals on their respective Secretary of State websites to see if it’s the same people or not.
Those pieces of information would answer a lot of questions.

I did check the principals of the "buyer" and it is a LLC started in 2015 with an address for a law office in Flroida as their principal location. Sounds like another entitiy of the same company.
I think this is more of a bad sign than a good sign. Seems like they may be moving the asset to a related entity that isnt directly in contracts with vendors, ticketing companies, etc, so they may be getting ready to have the Soundslinger LLC go bankrupt
Think you all are overestimating how long it takes to sell tickets. bands drop a tour and have shows within 2 months of the tour drop. Still think this is possible in original dates

I mean planning a night out at the local venue takes a little less prep then possibly booking flights, requesting extensive time off etc.

With a 4 day camping festival there's a lot more planning (taking time off, saving money, convincing friends to go ect.) than just a regular concert. When we don't even know if the festival is happening four months out that's not a good sign. People don't even know if they should be planning for this or not.

Just got a cut and paste text that the parent company has folded and the festival and brand name remain in limbo. At the11/8 meeting of Okee County Board of Commissioners Ms. Chartier said they haven’t filed for a permit for 2019. “It’s pretty safe to say there won’t be a festival this (next) year.”

I've looked into meeting minutes and couldn't find this. However, we all pretty much know at this point that it's done.
That, adding to a message from Okeechobee News to another source stating the festival is putting out a press release soon, is the last nail in the coffin. Devastated but actually won't feel the brunt until (if?) they say something.

If this becomes EDC Okeechobee, that makes sense business-wise and I’d be happy it’s back, but there’s no way in hell I’m going.
I mean, they put on Electric Forest, which I know is midway between Okee and EDC. Hopefully they still stick to its roots.
Electric Forest has progressively gotten worse as it has gotten bigger. Other than STI and a handful and a half of acts, it's full of dance music for the kids now. I would hope it would stay more of a multi genre thing, but Insomniac doesn't do that, so expect this to be full of the same stale stuff they always book.
