Hmm. Roo Lonely Island set vs Tenacious D Lolla set. I score it a draw. What say you?
Having been at neither and only watching the stream for D & snaps/YouTube videos of TLI, I’d have to go TLI.
I saw 2 15 minute chunks of Lonely Island. It was pretty great. But I thought the D was better tonight. Made me look forward to possibly 2 October dates.
I’m gonna keep beating this dead horse, but as excited as I am for some of the stuff today, this really needs to be 3 days. Arkells is killing it right now, but my body just ain’t having it.

More, please? What did he do? Endless is my favorite album of the last 3 years.
Around 60% of the show was him walking around the stage planting flowers or destroying printers with a huge hammer or cutting stone while the music played and he wasn’t mixing. His set up was relatively minimal to what I was expecting after the maximalism of Hi This Is Flume. It was a very arty-show and wasn’t quite what I expected. A TON of people were leaving saying it sucked. I enjoyed it but would have enjoyed something more along the lines of the visualizer. He brought out Slowthai which was cool
Happy to report that the blatant shitheaddery from the 15-22 crowd was not nearly as bad this year as the past few years. Or maybe I’m just old now and we’re not at the same sets.

I don't think Flume has ever really been into mixing live. I guess the visual artsy-show is better than pretending to be mixing behind a computer

I think he watched Nina Kraviz and Aphex Twin at Coachella, so he thought artful electronic music could be achieved by recreating office space.
I had an incredible time this weekend. The opportunity I was given is incredibly special and I feel like I did the absolute best I could (or at least I tried to). It feels amazing to know I’m picking a career path that makes me happy the way this does. Also the music was sick. I got paid to see some of my favorite artists of all time. 10/10 weekend
